How To Make Coconut Bowl

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Coconut shell is the strongest part covered in coconut fruit. They are often used to make crafts or active carbon materials. I have made some bowls from coconut shells. They looks quite interesting and eco-friendly.
To know how I made these cute bowls, check this video!
Tools and Materials:
◾ Coconut Shell
◾ Wood Chisel
◾ 80, 240, 400 Grit Sandpaper
◾ Coconut Opener Tool
◾ Belt Sander
◾ Vise Jaws

◾ Food Grade Mineral Oil
◾ Clean Cloth

They should last a while, to keep it in the best condition clean it by hand, not by dishwasher, and use food grade mineral oil, like the kind he used in the video, you can get it at the home depot, where the paint is

Linseed Oil works too. Can be used on regular wood as well to make it weather resistant and seal the surface. Because it becomes a polymer.

They are beautiful. Coconut is also amazingly rot resistant. I "lost" a half shell in some trench digging spoil which remained there for about 15 years, deep inside damp clay soil. When I eventually dug away that pile I found the coconut shell still in perfect condition. There was also some wood in taht pile which had disintegrated to mush.
