It's not an obvious question for new bakers. That was a rude response. So here it is (for future readers, too)... No, the texture when using cake molds is just like a regular cake: light, fluffy, spongy. When you use the icing method, mixing in icing with crumbled cake, the consistency of the cake balls is more moist, compact and looks kinda like unbaked cookie dough lol. Some people don't like the icing method texture because they feel like they're biting into an under-baked cake. Personally, it's how I make my cake pops to sell and they taste great. But if you'd like to make filled cake pops (chocolate or liquor) I'd recommend using the molds. It's a more satisfying dry-cake-to-moist filling ratio. Also something I didn't see specified (maybe I missed it) but you should place the mold onto a baking tray or pan as they will not sit or bake evenly directly on the racks and also in case your cake pops over flow, you won't have a messy oven. Hope this helped 💕🍭

Fix the cover(upper part of the mould) carefully, press each cavity in the cover to fix it over the base. You can put some small spoon on the mould after fixing the cover so that it remains fixed in place during baking, otherwise material will flow out of the cavity and spread everywhere.Once baked, don't try to remove the cake pops until these are cooled completely. And yes, brush some oil on both parts of the mould to prevent sticking.I hope these tips will be helpful....

Yes. You can use cake Mix. It's really all about the texture. With cake pop molds you want a more dense mix so it doesn't ooze as much because cake mix (most) say add oil and water but instead use butter and milk it will taste better and add a little at a time until you get desired texture.

The icing/frosting method is great! I use it to for my cake pops 😋 but nooo not for nothing! Since the consistency to silicone mold cake pops is dry and spongy, you can use these to fill them with liquor or something light by using a thin pipette. Baking at home is a great way to experiment with recipes 😋

The only problem with these molds is that it’s not a true cake pop. It just looks like one. A real cake pop is cake mixed with frosting and then dipped in melted chocolate. This is just cake on a stick. Great in a pinch or if you need a lot quickly but I’ll stick with the real thing.

these came out terrible with granulated sugar; they fell apart and were too buttery with the amount of butter I put on the molds; just as a heads up for anyone who would try to make it with that.
