How to Make: Buffalo Plaid Plastic Canvas Coaster

This Buffalo Plaid Plastic Canvas Coaster is an easy plastic canvas project perfect for any time of year.
You'll need #4 Worsted Weight Yarn - I'm using WeCrochet Dishie Yarn in the white, black and ash colorways, a tapestry needle and jewelry pliers are a helpful tool. I usually use Red Heart Super Saver for my plastic canvas projects, but I really wanted to see how cotton yarn would work up and wear.

Just got back into making things with plastic canvas after 15+ years of quitting. This looks like the perfect project to get me back in the swing of things. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have a carry-over 'want to make' from the last two years to make something plaid. It won't be plastic canvas but it's the same concept with yarn. I haven't quite figured out the difference between this buffalo plaid and gingham, but I want to make both styles, probably as a throw blanket size as I usually don't make blankets larger than that. Love the plastic canvas idea.

Technically, I suppose buffalo plaid is more like gingham, than plaid itself. Plaid has a variety of strip thicknesses and placement. Either way, sounds like it will be a very lovely throw blanket!

For this project, I used 7 mesh. It comes in soft, and stiff, and both would work great. I have a large stash of it, and haven't bought in quite some time, but I want to say it's around $0.75 - $2 (USD) depending on the type and sheet size.
