Hey There! I'm Alexandra - so glad you're here! On this channel, you will find mostly crochet patterns with some knitting and some plastic canvas. I am a cat mom to two, and you may catch them chiming in in my videos, and I'm also a big time coffee lover. I do have two blogs where you will find my free patterns with many in multiple sizes, and easy to read instructions. Cre8tionCrochet.com focuses on crocheted wearables (garments and accessories), and EyeLoveKnots.com focuses on home decor with many accessories in there as well, and all three crafts. If you like other DIYs, make sure to check out my other channel and blog, On Rockwood Lane.

So welcome 😊 Glad you enjoyed it! Making wreaths is one of my favorite things.

Thank you!
I am loving this because am learning
Hi am loving this.
So happy to hear ☺️
Just got back into making things with plastic canvas after 15+ years of quitting. This looks like the perfect project to get me back in the swing of things. Thanks for the inspiration!
Glad I could inspire! It's such a fun craft ☺️
👏🏻👏🏻🤩💯🏆😍🎉💐 Pretty stitch pattern! Great instructions & close-ups!! Awesome teacher!!! Thank you so much!! 😊
Thank YOU! So glad you enjoyed this tutorial 😀
Is that second increase of the first stitch going into the slip stitch?
I suppose it could be. I always just say it's the first stitch. It will be the stitch right underneath where the beginning chain is, and the stitch will come out just to the right of the chain.
This is an excellent tutorial, thank you so much
Thank YOU! So happy to hear. What will you be making with your squares?
@@eyeloveknotscre8tioncrochet a multi-coloured heart blanket! X
@@zoeyis2000 love it! Me too 😊 Figured I'd get ahead so it would be done in time to use for Valentine decorating.

Thank you, Brenda! What part are you struggling with?

My favorite stich... THANK YOU FOR YOUR tips 👌❤️💐
One of mine too! I just looovvee the texture and how easy it is to add graphics. So glad you enjoyed this one 😊
Hi, Thank you for your tutorial . If I want make a blanket with this pattaren I'll start with a chain of multiple of 40?
So glad you like it! I am working on a blanket myself in a chunkier yarn ❤️ This is my favorite combination! I actually just finished it, but still need to figure out the stitching for the different sizes. The stitch count is a little tricky. I don't know if a multiple of 40 would work without doing some math. I find that I always have to adjust it depending on the size I'm making because it has to be an odd number for the 2nd section, a multiple of 3 for the 3rd section, in the 4th section I do an even number of half double crochets in each part including the beginning and end and a similar concept for the bobbles and then ends with an even number for the last section so... it's a bit involved, and I usually sit down with pencil and paper and play around with my counts depending on the size I want. In the end, the shaping works out, and I just make sure my total stitch count in each section stays close to one another so there aren't large dips along the edges. With that said, I would probably start with an odd number that is 1-2 stitches away from a multiple of 3. That would allow you to work the first 2 sections, then you will most likely need to adjust from there. Adjust the length as you go as well dividing your desired length by each section (subject for border before dividing), and then you may end up stopping a row before or after that measurement as some of the stitch patterns need to be worked from a specific side, like the second section.

Absolutely! I love creating them and sharing with everyone. So glad you enjoy my designs 😊
Can I crochet this hat using size 3 yarn. If so do I need to make any adjustments such as hook size or more or less stitches.
Hi there! The crown will most likely require more rounds of increases. You can try it, and then see how close you are after checking gauge. Otherwise, I would recommend starting with my Lightweight Grace Tinley Beanie video for the crown. I use a #3 weight yarn, and the same size hook: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hnl8zKezgae_o7g.htmlsi=IriF0gui9FR-T5pk Once you get the crown done, you can come back to this video for the suzette stitch in the body, working evenly around. You will most likely need to add more rounds to the height of the body too so just measure before fastening off.
Thank you so much for the tips. I just finished my hat and it turned out perfect.
@annamariewoodle2424 yay! So happy to hear ☺️ Glad I could help!
Nice! Thanks and God bless.
So glad you enjoyed it 😊
Hi thanks for your beautiful handwork ❤️ I'm looking for a banner for happy birthday please 💐🙏
Thank you, Sharon! Tell me more about what it is you're looking for so I can visualize it better, like one wall hanging or individual letters strung up like a traditional banner, or something else? I have wall hangings and squares for individual letters (you can find some in the Home Decor playlist: kzread.info/head/PLAgrRPB3v6_ubzP32Z1y0bSoBge6GUmfv), but to comfortable spell out Birthday, I'm thinking each letter might need to be worked in a very light yarn, maybe like a fingering or crochet thread? I have already started working on single crochet versions. Perhaps I can work on something similar to what you're looking for.
@@eyeloveknotscre8tioncrochet thank you for getting back to me so soon... A banner please... MY GRANDDAUGHTER MIA will be 10...want to surprise her.. 💐

Happy early birthday to her! While I do have a project like this on my list of things to do, I wouldn't be able to have it done in time. I can recommend a couple of ideas. If you want to crochet it, definitely check out the Moogly blog crochet alphabet (free pattern for all letters): www.mooglyblog.com/lowercase-alphabet/, or I recently published a free Plastic Canvas Alphabet on my sister blog On Rockwood Lane: onrockwoodlane.com/2024/04/plastic-canvas-alphabet-free-pattern/
I JUST LOVE HOW YOU DO YOUR C2C STICH 👌THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US ❤️💐🙏
Thanks so much! Happy to share :-)
Thank you for making a video. It's incredibly helpful. One suggestion in the future is to perhaps use a lighter color. As a fairly beginner crocheter, I had to rewind and watch several times on a few parts because it was hard to see. But still, you explained things quite thoroughly!😊
I enjoy your videos and you do a great job of explaining the stitches. Thanks and God bless. Subscribed in the NB hat video.
Thank you so much! That warms my heart to hear! I always try my best to explain everything so nothing is left to question.
Thus is so pretty. I think this would make a very pretty lap blanket for a man with variegated yarn in the windows. That would look like stained glass. There aren't too many crochet blankets that are masculine looking.
Definitely! It's one of my favorite stitch patterns to use variegated yarns with, especially the ones I've been holding onto not knowing what to make with it. Here is my video for making an afghan (11 sizes to choose from): kzread.info/dash/bejne/eG2jt6mOYrrIYtY.htmlsi=a06et1Nc2hr6Nzf3
Great little bag - so many uses! The tutorial is easy to follow and just what i was looking for. Thanks!
Very welcome! So glad you like it. Thank you for the feedback!
Super easy to understand, thank you!
Very welcome 😊 So glad you found it helpful!
Thank you.
So welcome!
What is the size for teen size
Teen size would be the same as Adult Small (following average head sizes - could also be Adult Large if circumference measurement is larger, but I would go with the Adult Small)
Where can I find this pattern.
I don't have it publicly shared on my channel or blog yet, but you can access the video right here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/foxssZaKfreee7g.htmlsi=prAU8YK5OBSl6PYL
Thank you so much for sharing your Afghan Square videos - you explain and demonstrate everything so well! Which is brilliant for me as I'm a visual learner and struggle with patterns!
You are so kind! Thank you for the feedback. I try my best to include all the details, and this sampler is one of my favorites!
I have a pixie style hair cut and I'm looking for a summer beanie. Can't find it anywhere and I thought I can knit one. My head size is 20'' and a half, a touch smaller than average. I don't know how to read patterns. Videos are the only tool I have to do any DIY projects. Will you make a video on summer beanies please. The reason I need a summer beanie is because I'm getting bald spots and would like to throw on a beanie when I go out in the summer. A hat would be too hot. 😅
What would you say is a summer beanie? I've worked some beanies with a lightweight cotton yarn and stitches like the v-stitch - something like this?
If you start with a magic circle, it will reduce the bulk at the first row.
I like starting using my methods, but definitely use whichever method works best for you 😊
Sorry for being chatty. But I have sat I’ve learned so much from you. Many thanks again!!!
So happy to hear :-) Always welcome to come and chat!
All my years crocheting I’ve never seen the way you save a stitch for the end. Amazing. You are a great teacher. Thanks so much for this pattern. Glad I found you. ❤️
You made my day, Kathy! So glad you enjoyed this tutorial. That traveling seam used to drive me so crazy, and I know I'm not alone so I try to share whenever I can ☺️
This is great! Nice and clear. Easy to follow. I will use this to donate beanies to chemo patients. Thanks!
That warms my heart to hear ❤️ Would love to know where you donate to so I can add the organization or hospital to my list.

Thanks so much!
Is there a instructions I can print
Sure is 😊 All of the links are located in the description box. You can view the written pattern for free on my blog, or purchase a PDF version for a small fee: eyeloveknots.com/2015/10/updated-granny-square-beanie-in-3-baby.html
Hi, I just discovered your channel and this awesome video. I was looking for some kind of mosaic scarf and it came up in a search. You did a great job - I’m really surprised not to see comments. Just wanted to encourage you to keep up the great work! New sub.
You are so kind! I really appreciate that! I'm so glad I had what you were looking for. This is one of my favorite stitch patterns. Happy crocheting 😊
i am using thicker yarn, My measurement is bigger than yours. Will that matter Since i am making it for an adult?
Hi there! It will matter. It will result in a finished beanie that is too big. Two ways you can look at it... If it's quite a bit bigger, then perhaps you can just take out one round of increases. Make sure to measure to see if the diameter matches. Otherwise, you'll want to go down a hook size, and then rework the sample, and remeasure the diameter.
I strongly suggest tying the outer and center pulls of the skein together especially when washing more than one skein A friend of mine did not do this and had a big tangled mess.
Aww. Fortunately for me, I've washed a lot of skeins and haven't had any tangle up. It does come apart sometimes, but I find when it's in the lingerie bag, even if with other skeins, it does not tangle. If it comes apart, then I cake it after it's dry. I would imagine based on the yarn, it could be more prone to tangling, or using a larger bag could allow more space for it - my yarns are pretty snug in my bags (I have a couple sizes.
Thank you for showing this method. That's how my mom taught when I was child and i never seen anyone else do it so i was always confused and got lost in instructions. I enjoy your channel and work😊
That is awesome! I haven't seen anyone use it either. Glad I could bring back some good memories for you. Thanks so much - happy crocheting 😊
This is so pretty! Thank you so much!
So glad you like it 😊
Thank you for what I've learned from your channel, learned lots.
That warms my heart to hear! Happy stitching 😊
Love this! Have never made a shawl before and have always wanted to make an easy one to start bc im still pretty new to making different things. Thanks! ❤❤
So glad you like it! This is definitely a great one to start with, especially if you're already comfortable with half double crochet. Put on your favorite show, and stitch away. I found it so therapeutic
Would this work with chenille?
Possibly. I haven't tried it myself, nor am I that familiar with chenille yarns. My first thought is that it may be a little stiffer, especially around the underarms, and have less stretch, so I might recommend following the instructions I have for using the Sarasota yarn in the written pattern.
Thank you so very much for this video tutorial. I so appreciate all the time and work you put into making this video tutorial 💗🧶💗
So very welcome 😊 Thank you for reaching out to me!
Love this beanie! I am going to make it! Love to make beanies!! Thanks so much! 💕💕
So welcome! Warms my heart that you like it. Happy crocheting 😊
Confused. R 9 30 clusters. R 10 35 clusters. My R 9 has 35 clusters. Written pattern. Love your work
35 is correct. It's a typo in the written pattern - I will correct it. You will have half the number of clusters as you do total stitches before beginning the clusters.
Thanks for the tutorial!!! I love it!❤
So welcome! Glad you like it 😊
How many rows of granny square did you do?
11 rounds for this size. You can also find that information in the written pattern linked in the description box.
Alexandra… Thank you for your many valued videos and dedication to the art of crocheting. Holiday Hugs❤️
What yarn type is best for cancer patients I've heard acrylic and wool are not good?
A soft yarn that can withstand multiple washings is the true answer. To me, a superwash merino wool, like Malabrigo Rios or WeCrochet Swish, or a wool blend, like Lion Brand Wool Ease, is the answer, with Red Heart Super Saver coming up behind that. These are soft options (even the Super Saver which softens after washing) that I use in my projects because I know they're nice, durable. With that said, many organizations have their own yarn requests. Wool can be a irritant to some so some will say no wool, and some will say no Super Saver because it's too rough. It's best to check with the organization you would like to donate to to see if they have any guidelines. If I had to suggest alternatives, I would say a cotton blend, like Lion Brand Coboo and Berroco Modern Cotton. WeCrochet has some cotton blends as well. It's just a little tougher with cottons because some favorite the cotton characteristics a bit more and don't stretch back to shape as well. The other thing is that cotton blends like these don't stretch the same way as other fibers, and therefore, hats made with them may need to be made larger to fit correctly. Years ago, I made myself one with the Modern Cotton and it made such a nice, soft and cool hat, but I had to do it in positive ease to fit correctly, and it took guess and checking on my own head. I know that isn't a straight forward answer, but I wanted to be as real as I could with my answer. First, I would suggest checking with the organization for guidelines, then pick a soft yarn that you know to be durable and comfy.
Was searching for this pattern.thanks for the detailed explanation 😊
So welcome! Happy crocheting 😊
