Hi, you have inspired me to dip a toe into weaving. I have brought a simple frame loom with a heddle bar. I tried it but the result looks like a child has done it. I wondered if, and how, I can increase the number of warp yarns. If there is a way please could you help me as I want to do this well and enjoy it, however, if the result does not make me happy. I appreciate that you are very busy and thank you for any advice you can give me. The loom is 40 cm wide with 28 slots.

Hi Suzanne! I recommend jumping into my Weaving Tapestry on Little Looms or Warp and Weft course. I answer all these kinds of questions there. The answers are many and have to do with equipment, warp, weft, etc. It doesn't have to be complicated, but the answer is way longer than I can put in a comment on youTube! Enjoy the weaving!

Why do you have more than one butterfly for each color of yarn?

In part, laziness. If I have enough room, having two butterflies of each color is easier. To keep meet and separate working, you have to add and subtract butterflies in twos, and if you use two of the same color, you can use splices which can be clipped off making a clean back and less finishing. Of course there are instances where this is not the best choice! I talk about this a lot in my Warp and Weft: Learning the structure of tapestry online class. www.rebeccamezoff.com/warp-and-weft-learning-the-structure-of-tapestry/

I am sorry but I can't offer translations in every language! My courses do have subtitles and transcripts in English so you could potentially translate those, but unfortunately, I don't speak Hebrew and KZread doesn't offer automatic translations in to all the languages in the world. I hope that you can find someone who teaches tapestry in your languages. Best wishes and happy weaving! You can turn off subtitles in the player bar so that the words don't get in the way of my hands.
