There is a reason why the best sponge filters are coarse: to allow the water flow thru it while avoiding clogging. And small critters getting sucked in.

You would need tobe aware too that not always cheap is best. You would need to consider the introduction of micro plastics into your water table and its long term effects, which i believe would be harmful

The cost of a sponge filter doesn't justify making one. Especially if you have to go out and buy the tools. You can pick them up starting from £5.

It is an ordinary cleaning sponge.available at grocery store or small sofa making stores

pipe dia is small compare to sponge size....wont be efficient.....👍

Spounge filters are so cheap just go and buy new

Yes bro you are right,but this is very cheap one ,you make 4 sponge filter at the same cost you buy new one in aquarium shop....

@@D0ITYOURSELFYou can buy the pond size like the first one shown for under $3 on line. And if you want to increase the usefulness of it replace the riser tube with a one inch pvc tube cut off below the surface of the tank far enough to mount a power head on it. Now instead of pulling in fifty or so gallons an hour you can move 200 to 400 gallons per hour.
