How to Make Beer Can Chicken in a Pit Boss

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Welcome back to Anderson's SmokeShow! Today we are smoking beer can chickens! Seasoned and smoked to perfection using my Pit Boss 5 Series Vertical Pellet Smoker! The results were fall off the bone tender and juicy beyond belief!
Don't start your cook off with a dirty grill or smoker! Get yourself a GOOD bristle-free grill brush like the ones sold by Grillaholics: www.grillaholics.com/?ref=AND... (Be sure to use coupon code SMOKESHOW to save 20%)
Pellet of Choice: Pit Boss Classic Blend (Pecan, Hickory, and Mesquite)
I started off by trimming the necks and tails off the chickens. Rinsed and dried. Used avocado oil as a base and applied Uncle Steve's Shake Gator Shake on one chicken and Sucklebusters Clucker Dust on the other! This beer can chicken recipe is great!!
Smoked these at 225F for 1 hour, then increased the temperature to 275F until the internal temp in the breast over 165F.
These beer in the butt chickens were so tender that they were falling apart! This smoked chicken was so juicy as you can see in the 4K video! Absolute PERFECTION!

Rich! The beer flavor is fairly faint, but you can taste it. What makes these special is how juicy the meat is. I called Pitboss they sent me a new control panel. I installed it and it still immediately gives me the ErL error. won't even come on now. Any idea whats wrong with my smoker? Idk how much difference that would've made, but I will try it next time!

It's better use a stainless steel container instead of a beer can because the beer can will release the fumes of the pain. That paint is toxic.

That seems like a really long cook time. Am I missing something?

Throwing in some of those lower temperatures will cause some longer cook times. I just did another beer can chicken video which was at a higher temp and faster. Check it out

I just pull the chicken skin over the top and hold it with a toothpick

That may work too, but as it cooks I’m not sure if it’ll hold the seal

@@AndersonsSmokeShow It usually does but this last chicken had too big a hole and I didn’t have potatoes so I plugged the hole with a lemon. That worked just fine and then smoked it in a vertical pit boss on a beer can like you did! Good stuff!

Miller Lite? Thought you were making Beer can chicken? Reminds me of a joke. 3 Beer company CEO's were having dinner at a convention, Anheuser-Busch, Molson-Coors, and Guinness. When asked what they'd like to drink, Anheuser-Busch said "We're having beer, so give me a Budweiser." Molson-Coors said "I'll have a Miller Lite". The Guinness CEO turned to the waitress and said "I'll have a Coke". The other two CEO's looked at him puzzled and asked why a coke? Guinness CEO looked back and said "Well, if neither of you are going to drink beer, then I won't either."

🤣🤣 I typically have lite beer in the fridge at all times, but don’t get me wrong I do like some real beers too. I live close to Hoppin Frog, Thirsty Dog, and Great Lakes breweries
