    Yes now I actually let it sit for 10-15 min but it took me awhile to figure that out. I have never hit it with a torch before I pour it. will have to try that.

    Thank you! You said you do mosaics , have you ever done glass on glass mosaics, or what kind do you do? I am just fascinated with the amount of work that must go into the mosaics where every square inch is covered with glass or tile.

    Your videos are so informative. I appreciate your attention to detail. It is possible to make a video on the entire process you use for tumbling the glass. Duration in the tumbler and type of grit? I’m ready to buy your recommended tumbler but unsure on the process.

    This is so cool. I seen your video you demonstrated the tumbler, but I don’t understand why you did this.

  • @crazyglasslady

    So you’re saying you don’t understand why I tumbled the glass? When you break glass the edges are sharp if someone touches it, they could slash their fingers. So if you tumble it it takes the sharp edges off the longer you tumble it the softer and more around the edges become. So it just depends on how you want your glass to look. I have recently found out that you can tumble glass in just water for 1 to 3 hours to remove the edges and you won’t end up with a frosted look like Seaglass or faux Seaglass.

    I love your videos. You're going to cost me money because I know I'm going to buy a rock tumbler! I have so many art supplies I'll never live long enough to use them! Love your show and what a beautiful piece of work this one was💚💙💜

    WOW thank you so much! So over 3 years ago I donated all my crafting stuff to Girl Scouts because it was supplies I knew I wouldn't use again and I really didn't know anything about glass at that time. Then I bought a rock tumbler and another and another and another. I just fell in love with it. Now I have this entire room filled with crafting supplies again. LOL You will have to let me know what you make with your 1st tumbled glass.

    I love your videos! Love the way you take your time to explain your process. Wouldn’t mod podge work the same?

  • @crazyglasslady

    @crazyglasslady

    2 жыл бұрын

    Mod Podge would probably hold the glass down especially if you first put a layer down then poured it over it. Mod podge works like Elmers Glue. I don't think it would put a protective layer over the sharp glass and it would not be as glossy but would have some gloss to it. Now the vase part is quite heavy, so you would have to make sure that it had enough surface touching the canvas to be able to be held with the glue or full strength Mod Podge. I hope that helps.

    If you go to dollartree.com and type in sea glass you can order 24 packs of those beautiful little glass pieces. The only downside is you have to order 24 packs but in this case I think that's good!

    Yes that is the chunky sea glass I’m not sure if it stays that color if you tumble it if you wanna break it up and make it smaller or not I forget
