    Indeed! I share your opinion, that was completely unnecessary, i would not suggest it. If you prefer it more flavoursome or tastier add powdered spices like black pepper chilly, well any of your choice or even fresh finely chopped spices or bits of fruits or veggies, it looks tempting and comes out more appetizing! I do it regularly adding some whole wheat flour with high percentage of green veggies. But your flatbread looks nice too, just skip the sugar. 👍

    Interesting. I wonder about the lectins, though -- they say lentils need to be cooked at 100C for 15 minutes to denature the lectins. Maybe the higher temperatures of pan-frying will denature them in 3-4 minutes?

  • @foxsweightwatcherkitchen854

    @foxsweightwatcherkitchen854

    Жыл бұрын

    I was wondering when someone would mention the lectins. Lectins as you probably know can cause intestinal discomfort and yes you are correct you can cook them for 15mins to remove them. The reason the lentil flatbread does not cause problems is because the other way to remove lectins is to soak which I do overnight to help swell up the lentils and this also removes the lectins. The lentils can then be rinsed thoroughly and replace with the same amount of water before blending. For full info on lentils and lectins have a look at this article www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/anti-nutrients/lectins/

Havent done a video on this but heres the ingredients 1 cup red lentils 1/4 cup whole psyllium husk 1/4 cup water 1 Tbsp. olive oil 1 Tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar 2/3 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt Soak the lentils as per flatbread then drain water off next day. Blend then Mix it all together and you get a dough ball, you can make buns the size you want. they are not light and fluffy they are more like a bagle but still yummy. bake in 180 oven for 15-20 mins Can be stored in an airtight container for upto 1 month.

    Red lentils are the better option as they soak really easily...for speed you can get away with just 3 hours...I have tried with brown and green lentils to... however the taste is different ( more earthy) and because the brown and green ones are whole they take a lot more blending to get to a smooth consistency... as an alternative you can also use soaked chickpeas but again they take a lot of soaking and the mix is more like 2.5 cups water to 1 of chickpea but taste is still good...hope that all helps

    @snowbird6855 Okay Three cups chick pea flour One cup Almond flour Three cups water , But you can mix to the consistency you want Heaping tablespoon cinnamon Heaping tablespoon Cardiman 2 Over ripe bananas Just let the brown spots get on them Optional two tablespoons date syrup You can usually find it at arabic stores Optional two heaping spoons of nutritional yeast , Make sure you grind it into a fine flower first I usually cook it in a little butter To grease the pan , Coconut oil works too You could experiment with a wafflemaker I use a Electric Casadilla Maker , If you use more banana You can cook it to a consistency where it's almost like bread pudding Inside , Then don't use the baking powder , If you go more the route of the date syrup Then use the baking powder And it will be more fluffy like bread . To make a smaller batch Just have the ingredients , Which is usually good 4 one person . I've added organic cocoa powder to it Don't use the Hershey's It's dutch and it's bitter . You might also try sperlena It has a good nutty flavor that mixes with the Nutritional yeast , That will bring your mix up to give you a very complete protein And vitamins . You do not want to smoke your oil or your butter Or try not to char or burn them So cook them lightly as you can , More water in your mix will slow things down a little bit .

    Another thing that I do is weigh the overall weight after soaking them, then I wash thm in hot tap water to take out all of the milky looking water until the water runs clear, then add water back to the original weight then blend and cook them. Seems to take away the strong earthy taste too so when adding different flavours like in the 5 lentil recipe video, the new flavours take better.

    This recipe is a pan recipe. I do not think it will work like normal banana bread as it will stay too moist in the oven. When I have baked just a flatbread in the oven it takes 25 minutes to just bake a pizza base so do not think it will work

    you can add pretty much whatever sweetner you like so if Canadian Maple syrup is your go to then use it. I have also since making the video stopped using xylatol as it is dangerous to pets. Also if the bananas are sweet enough then no sweetner agent is required...of course there is the other option..just pour Canadian Maple syrup over them once cooked...yummy but more calories

    I stopped using xylitol soon after making the video after doing reserch on the product and yes you are correct its quite dangerous. I have now started using more natural ingredients like honey which is although not great for weight loss, I hit my target weight so mostly use honey but if I gain a few pounds I go back to sukrin gold which I buy from amazon or ebay

    @@foxsweightwatcherkitchen854 you're so much better off without it, glad to hear it 🙂 I'm surprised it's not banned really - some peanut butter has it in and I won't touch that kind of peanut butter either.. same goes for some toothpastes..and some sugar free sweets ..and god knows what else, I read the labels and avoid! Definitely won't have anything that has it in the house...

    Just as a tit-bit about the XYLITOL, that stuff isn't good for dogs. It gets their body thinking that it's an actual sugar and so it starts a series of events wherein which the dog's blood-sugar becomes extremely low. Have to watch out for this stuff with dogs. I know each substitute sugar is different in flavour & sweetness, etc. but it really is a good idea to maybe stick to a different one if you plan on sharing any bit with your dog.

    @@foxsweightwatcherkitchen854 I have found the best thing has been just regular sucralose and such... but always consume it at the same time as other sugars. I think xylitol can be great... it still is 50% of the sugar (energy for your body though). I wish Stevia didn't have such a funky flavour to it personally. Best scenario is when you can eat fewer times in a day and you'll then crave food less consistently/aggressively usually.

    @@zombiesandpumpkins Well at least we now know it dosen't work, having said that though Lentils are a good source of protein anyway. here's the stats. Each ¼ cup of dry red lentils (which makes ¾ cup when cooked) packs 9 grams of fiber and 13 grams of protein, plus roughly 25 percent of a day’s folate, 15 percent of a day’s iron, 14 percent of a day’s zinc, 9 percent of a day’s magnesium, and 6 percent of a day’s potassium. Just thought I'd share as not many people know that about lentils

    @@foxsweightwatcherkitchen854 nonono, chewing and machine blending are two VERY different things. You can never chew enough to make every piece of food in your mouth into a fine paste or powder. there will always be large unchewed pieces with will help ease hunger in your stomach, and won't spike your sugar. chewing your food also makes the hunger go away faster a.k.a preventing over-eating. Plus it makes your teeth stronger. we aren't babies, stop being lazy, start chew your food. LOL
