How to make animal plates, Innocent, peace and love Yomi Monster

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I created this little animal's image several years ago. Its name is Yomi Monster. They like berries and live by creeks. They represent innocent, peace, and love. This video shows the process of making ceramic plates with the cute animal's shape.
I am Wanying Liang, an artist based in upstate New York. I record the process of how I work on ceramic sculptures. The videos are mostly slow, quiet, sometimes might be boring, but you may find them satisfying to watch, too.
I hope you enjoy and please let me know if you've got any questions down in the comments. Please subscribe to my channel for more videos on ceramic art sculptures.
Thanks for watching and I'll see you soon with a new upload.

Great work! Why did you make tiny holes and then fill those out?

There is a higher risk to explode in the kiln if I didn't make these tiny holes.

What did you add to the stain? Inspiring - I have a repeating flower I paint on my pieces and making a mold for a tray/plate would be so fun. I'm going to do it👍🏼.

Liang I found your channel today and had to subscribe right away! I love your art and I have been watching your other videos for the last two hours now! You have a beautiful baby and I think your ceramic art is simply beautiful! You are so peaceful to watch, I find myself completely at peace when I watch your videos. Your art work 'Woman As Vessel' was so graceful and beautiful. I just love it. I have no access to a kiln, so the only choice I have is to use Air Dry Clay. Do you know if I could make sculptures similar to yours using that kind of clay? I am completely new to clay and I find it exciting. Thank you for making such brilliant art and videos! God bless you and your family.

Carly, I am glad that you found my channel! I wish this channel could grow faster and reach a larger audience. I have no experience working with Air Dry Clay. I would assume this type of clay is suitable to build a relatively smaller sculpture. It's critical to control the humidity of clay while building up to avoid cracks. You can try to use the Air Dry Clay and let me know the results. :)
