Hey Frank, I went for duplicolor inferno red as a test with no clear, it was to dark, what shade of red was that perfect match you have? The metalcast red, is that a transparent red spray that goes over gold? I’m nearly finished printing the iron man mark6, the same suit from da Dave. Hope you see this comment, you & Emily the engineer rock!

🤣 As soon as you said something about the red peeling off when taped, I went "yup". I painted the chest of my suit and it peeled when I took the tape off. I'll have to try your method. I also like that you used gold as an undercoat. May have to do that so I don't have to buy silver paint on top of all the other colors. Just waiting for the weather to allow me to paint. This hot and humid Alabama air doesn't allow me. In the meantime, I'm going to keep sanding and prepping the parts for paint. My parents are already starting to nag me because I haven't finished my suit 🤣

You should get either an airbrush or HVLP setup. I used Createx gold and a mix of candy they provided "For the Iron Man red, try a candy20 mix of ~ 60% 4650 Blood Red, 30% 4651 Sunset Magenta, 5% 4659 Deep Purple, 5% 4663 Red Oxide. Mix this 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear 6:1 candy20 color-mix. Thanks." that turned out really well for my Mk3 helmet I recently made.

Where did you get the files for the oathkeeper and Ultima keyblades? Also you should do a build vid of one of the keyblades and show print orientation. Maybe show how you would slice them for a smaller printer like an ender 3. I've been wanting to make a keyblade for a while.

Hey I have a question about the Creality Cr-10s Pro V2: is it okay to add a glass bed to it? I print models of buildings on little 5 x 5 inch foundations, but one of the corners always warps up off of the bed. Does glass stick better to the prints? Is it safe to add a glass bed to the printer? It won’t affect it long term or anything?

Changing a bed may change the problem but that’s just a level bed or clean bed issue.

I have problems with the duplicolor metal cast. It’s really “liquidy” and it runs and idk I just can’t get the color right even though I used a metal base. Any tips?

Do very thin layers and allow the proper amount of drying time in between. He says it in a few videos, don’t rush the process. Really hope you read this I need HELP!! I’m making a MK85 bust almost life size and stumbled across the same colors your using but once I paint the gold and taped off to do the gun metal the tape messed up the old so I went to wet sand it and redo the gold and everything seemed good until I took the tape off the gun metal it peeled right off. What am I doing wrong! Please help!!

Try to get better tape. Wet sand lighter. Or use a different gold

Dude. I've been away from your vids for WAAAYYYYY to long! Been keeping up on IG! ;-) 'm trying to figure out a good way to make a gold face shield (that would be see through), for the Master Chief helmet from HALO. Video's or ideas on that would be sweet! As of now, I'm just trying to tint a clear face shield (like the one from the Mando helm)...thoughts??

Have you heard of the smoothing technique with alcohol and a tub to smooth out Prince the fumes smooth and melt the plastic and makes it glossy

What’s the best way to sand any imperfections in the detail lines on the helmet? Sometimes they get cluttered from supports etc.

Oh I just remember where you was talking about the wall where you may write patreon people or subscribers on the wall and I just wanted my name on the wall because you're the one that motivated me more into getting the 3D printer and I went out and bought three I have a creality resin one I have two Ender 3 Pro and I have the Ender 5 plus and for years I was on the fence for buying one and I wanted one so bad but the price was too high and then I didn't know how to slice anything I didn't know about creality and you open up the floodgates and now I'm here

Great video man. Looks awesome with the updated candy paint. To be honest, I'm shocked you didn't use the spray max 2k clear. I was hoping to hear your take on that and whether or not you tried that stuff out yet. Let me know if you've used it yet and what your thoughts are on it in comparison to the duplicolor 1k. @@FranklyBuilt yeah man. It seems to do the job. The candy effect still shows up really nice. As far as the price on the 2k, I agree. However, I did see someone paint their whole car using it and they put the leftovers in a freezer to prolong the pot life. Just warm it back up again and reuse. I thought that was a nice little trick no one was talking about. Overall man, your suit looks badass. Well worth the time and effort 🤘

So I've been researching more about the duplicolor metalcast paints. I'm slightly nervous spraying the 2k over it. I think metalcast is an enamel based paint while the 2k is a urethane based clear. Not sure if info is accurate, and if so, whether or not it will be compatible. I don't want to mess things up. Have you tried the 2k over the metalcast yet? Let me know....thanks man.
