    The video gave me confidence to try my own build. We had an infinity mirror when I was a child and it used the old style strand of incandescent mini Christmas lights. I love RGB LED lights and I use them for cove lights and above bookcases. My mother asked me to find a new infinity mirror and I told her about this project and I would try to make one for her. Thank you for sharing this, Muhamed.

    Hello Muhamed, You have given me an idea how to do an experiment in physics that I have been thinking about for some time to see if I can measure in the lab the pull of the earth's gravity on light that is predicted by Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. This effect has been observed by measuring the deflection of light from a star as it passes by our sun but the has never been done in the laboratory as far as I know. If you do a bit of googling you can read up about this famous experiment in physics done many decades ago not too long after Einstein published his theory I think in 1915/1916. I think it was Eddington who did the experiment by traveling abroad from England to where an eclipse was happening. Peter Nolan.(Ph.D., experimental physics). Dublin. Ireland.

    Hello Muhamed, My idea is very simple to reflect light back and forth between two mirrors placed say a few hundred meters apart using a high powered pulse laser to see if the light by traveling back and forth between the mirrors parallel to the ground the earth's surface might undergo a deflection due to gravity that could be measured but until I do the numbers using formulae I will not know if this experiment will give a measurable deflection or not. Peter Nolan.(Ph.D., experimental physics). Dublin. Ireland.

  • @WayPastCrazy2525

    @WayPastCrazy2525

    7 жыл бұрын

    Peter Nolan ...Peter Nolan ...Hi, just curious about your experiment. Did you proceed with your idea? I wonder....would your experiment actually work? The reason I ask is that, here on earth at ground level, the pull of gravity would be a constant from the start to the end of the mirrors, and back again, and everywhere in between. I would speculate that the pull would be equal at all points, creating a uniform drag throughout. I wonder if this is measurable? Maybe? Maybe it'd create a solid wall of light as the reflection droops ever so slightly, assuming there is no loss of light. Conversely, a light beam travelling in a straight line, unaffected by gravity, and then passing within the field of a gravitational pull, and then passing back out beyond that field to continue on in a straight line again, IS most likely measureable (observable). Thoughts? I like your idea. I hope you were able to get it going.

  • @MuhamedRetkoceri

    it depends how strong the lights are and what is the difference of view-able percentage between the reflection side of the one way mirror and the opposite side, i.e. the more you can see from the glass and the higher the reflection on the other side of the glass is, it means that the deeper the reflection illusion will appear. I also think that green lights appear the deepest on the infinity mirror.

    Very nice work! Thank you very much. Will post pics of mine if I manage to finish it. Love your tip about the aluminum window spacers. The shapes in the middle are beautiful too, though I may leave that for version 2 of mine.

    Thanks man for sharing such a nice video, very informative and helpful video. The shapes you used were especially nice, had not seen that style before. Thank you. I really liked your infinity mirror, I had a project I wanted to complete and this will help me.
