In this video I'm going to show you how to make your own Steampunk Pipe Lamp! I keep it fairly simple in this video, but you can check out my other pipe lamp video (with water valve switch and phone charging port) here: • DIY pipe lamp with val...

I am a lighting designer and repairer of antique lights. You did such a cool job on the lamp and helped me figure out the best socket to use with black pipe, a new area for me. Thank you ma'am
I'm an electrician, and I think you did a great job..
Great tutorials! Thanks. Making a pipe lamp for my brothers for their birthdays. The materials list is super helpful. You may know this by now but I recently learned that fogging on safety glasses doesn't have anything to do with the glasses - it's caused when warm breath escapes through the TOP of the mask and condenses on the colder lenses of the glasses, which happens when the nose bridge of the mask is not a tight fit. So getting a tight fitting mask is actually the cure for fogging glasses!
Brilliant! Very nice work!
I'm going to try to do this project with smart bulbs so I don't need to worry about a switch. Plug it on and just command it to turn on and off. :) There are some really cool smart fimament style bulbs which would fit the industrial theme perfectly.
Very well done! Thank you.
Very cool. Well done!
This is so cool. Nice job finding solutions for everything. It came out really nice.

Think it looks great and want to try and make one, can you give us the measurements of the pipes you used so I can make one the same size.
Very nice job - I think I might be making one soon. ;)

thanks lindsey! it doesn't really suit the style of my house, but i love the industrial style!
I know my comment is three and a half years to late, but if you have to choose between dust mask and safety glasses while using a router, please keep the safety glasses on and get rid of the dust mask. Love the video, keep up the good work!
Hi and Thank You so much for this! Great work! Can you tell me the pipe fitting you used and sizes like you answered in your other video with the flip gate valve like you listed for a person asking the same question on your other video. Here's what you listed on your other video for pipe sizes and quantity: 1" flange 1"x1" nipple 1" t-pipe 1" hex 1"x3/4" hex 3/4"x6" nipple 3/4" 90' elbow 3/4"x1" 90' elbow 3/4"x3" nipple 1" close nipple 3/4"x1" reducer Would love to know the same information for this project. You Rock!!!
How much do you think you spent to make it??? Im inspired
Nice. Did you think about a push button or flip switch on the base instead of on the cord? That might give it a little extra umph. 😊
This looks awesome 😀.. Can you mention the total price involved?
Is there a list of materials?
Great job on the video. Wondering if you found those pipes at a hardware store like Home Depot ofrLowes?

would definitely be worth it! it's sooo annoying when they fig up like that!! thanks for the tip :)
Organic paint is the best.
How do you tighten them all the way in and still keep them at a 90 degree angle? Mine have their own idea on how they wanna stay, ughh!
Looks great but did you give a thought to electrical safety as all touchable parts are entirely made out of conductive material and you have no earthing ( ground) provision making it extremely dangerous !

As long as her electrical connections are insulated from the metal it is fine - we made it thru the 70's didn't we?
Total cost?
I know you probably won't answer this but what was that you used at the end where the light bulb goes into? It looked like green putty haha. Oh I see now it's green tape.
Look up soapy water for swimming goggles. Apply some diluted dish soap solution on the glass itself and let it dry. As long as it doesn't get wet again, it should stay clear for a while.

Seems there's a list of all the materials in the description above.
Do you have a list of materials?
How much do you sell a lamp like that?
👍
What can u use instead of a heat gun?

You could use a lighter on the shrink tubing. Just don't get the flame to close to the crimp and shrink connectors.
3M Solus 1000 safety glasses. Any 3M glasses with ScotchGard anti fog
I would be double insulating the wire joints in a metal pipe.
Dont use philips screws... Use standard slotted brass screws instead.
Very nice pipe lamp design. Would like to copy your design but avoid making multiple trips to the Plumbing Supply Shop with a Material List. Was it posted? Thanks.

Found it. Thanks.
Try something called cat crap (I kid you not) found on Amazon it's used by down hill skiers in Utah for anti fog
rain X for your glasses
