This is the technique that I have found the easiest to do. It allows me to clearly see the stitches I need to pick up in order to make a near and even folded brim.
The hat can be made to accommodate various sizes/lengths by adding more rows. You will need to experiment with different brands of yarn to see which works best for your machine and the knit instructions would be the same if you are using other circular knitting machines such as the Sentro.
