How To Make an Adorable Tiny Ant Sculpture From A Soda Can
I sold out of the original Ant sculptures at my last craft show, so I decided to make an even smaller version of this cut little plant charm. Let me show you how easy it is to make these little ant sculptures from your next empty soda can.

About the UPCYCLE DESIGN LAB. I craft with recycled, repurposed, and unwanted materials. There is a lot of experimenting with trash and recyclables to make them "new" again. If you enjoy reusing, repairing, and re-imagining old items, I hope you will stick around, check out some of my other Upcycling tutorials, and join those of us who are rethinking the things we throw away.

I was wondering if how a rotary cutter would work. Would be fast and straight, as I'd use a ruler

I don't know but that is an interesting idea. If you try it I would love to know if it works. 🙂

I tried to make this cute ant! It was the hardest thing I’ve made, a lot more difficult than it looks! One of the reasons was that I tried to use what I had, and it’s probably easier with the tools and wire gauge recommended, but environmental speaking buying a whole lot of tools and more wire seemed to defeat the object - an environmentally friendly item. Just for info!

Thanks for the feedback. I am curious what you used to roll the beads and did it work? Thanks for watching 😊

@@UpcycleDesignLab To roll the beads I used a slim wooden skewer stick, I had a packet of them in the house. It worked after multiple efforts but I wouldn’t recommend it! There are too many fingers in the way for anyone to see that the aluminium is kept centred. Also the metal sticky back bit you placed on the end before rolling kept getting wrinkled and the whole bead unrolled as I attempted to apply a new bit!!

I tried using a skewer but I wasn't successful at it. I am impressed that you got it to work at all.😊
