I know this channel doesn't get as much attention as the drawing one but I just wanted to say it's extremely useful to me, and I'm so thankful for these videos. I've always wanted to get into sculpture... Thank you so much!
One thing I've never heard anyone talk about is what to do about the armature stand once your finished with your sculpture. If you want to mold and cast your piece (resin, wax, plaster) then how do you address the armature stand and the piece of wire sticking out? If you're casting it in plaster, which is very sturdy, you don't really need the stand anymore right? It's just there for the sculpting process...How do you take care of that spot where the wire comes out?

I'd imagine you unscrew the threaded pipe, and cast it like that in a block mold. Then when you have your "master" cast (e.g in urethane) you remove the wire and finish it up.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I especially appreciate your attention to cost for all of these things your are doing in this series of videos,
Thank you for this very useful video. But i am just wondering how to remove that rod or piping from sculpture. I couldn't find any good video about that. Can you make a video about it?
Good work. Thanks for sharing.
Very clear and precise
How do you remove the support from the back of your sculpture?

Just cut it!
Nice tutorial.
GREAT AS USUAL. I LIKE YOUR TECHNIQUE VERY MUCH. ONE SUGGESTION, THOUGH. WHEN THE ARMATURE IS HANGING, I ALSO ATTACH IT TO THE BASE WIT SOME NAILS . THIS WAY THERE IS NO POSSIBLE MOVEMENT.
This guide was great to find, I would've been lost without it! I will say some of your measurements don't match what's listed on screen and a 24" zinc rod was a bit longer than necessary. 😅
Grazie mille per questo video!
Thanks a lot 🥺♥️
Awesome 💥💥💥
Please after sculpting how do you remove it from the stand?
this is very helpful. I've been buying retort stands because I couldn't find any pre-made armature stand. I want to upgrade to this setup soon

Awesome!
This was great, but I don’t think I’m cut out for building this…where is the link to purchase a top hanging stand please
but how do you get rid of the giant rod in the back when all is done? EDIT: successfully finished my first sculpt (video on channel) thanks for showing me some neat things. my armature is something...original, due to the "base" the sculpt hangs from in the end.

You can also exit the armature from the calf muscle too.
How to remove the sculpture from the armature stand?
The measurements and supplies you outline verbally differ from what you list in the image. Can you confirm the measurements and items needed for this project
Hello sir kon sa wire use karen ❤please help me and reply
hii sir liked ur video its really informative and helpfull for me. i have god gifted ability for sculpting perhaps i had have no idea about these sculpting tricks 🥰 👍
are you sure the threaded rod is 3/4, not 1/4?
You can say these videos stand on their own merit
For someone who just stumbled upon this interesting video, how do u take it off the stand. Would you just cut wherever u put the wire? Also could this be fired? I’m a beginner, sorry😅😅

@Keani Young you don’t fire oil-based clay sculptures. You have to make a mold from it and cast it. Use a high fire clay if you want to put it in a kiln.

What about Sculpture standing on one leg and one leg lifted in air
May I ask what specific brand of water-based clay you are using?
@AndrewJosephKeith

I usually don't use water based clay but I have a friend who really likes Hopkins White Clay.
2:01 You said 3/8 for the Zinc metal rod but the video says 3/4". I'm assuming it's the 3/8" just by looking at it though
@thehaip

I actually think he's using 5/16" because I tried with 3/8 and it was ridiculous to bend
How can you get your model if your done from the wire/metal rod attach? By cutting it?

My threaded rod snapped at the first 90degree bend, also I don’t think that’s a 3/4 rod

Same issue, here. Yeah, I got a 1/2 in pipe, since that's the size I think he used.

You may want to try hanging the armature from above if you're having trouble with the metal threaded rod.

I don’t know what it is… But there’s something very Tobey Maguire-ish about his face?😳 Thank you for sharing the information .

I have heard that before!
Those look like 3/4 inch wood screws. Am I wrong?
@AndrewJosephKeith
Жыл бұрын
Yes I think so. Just make sure they aren't too long so they don't go all the way through the baseboard.
My threaded rod broke when I made my first 8 inch bend

Same. Idk what to do

A normal rod (not threaded) might work better. Or you can hang the armature from above if the rod is giving you a hard time.
