Size 9 and 10 for Catfish

i made this leader and used carp for bait and got a few good bites but im having trouble getting the hook set im using a size 6-7 octopus hook you got any tips

Try using a smaller hook and let him run for a while big bait only so he has no choice but to swallow it when he runs with it when he picks it and takes off with it the first time he stops and he runs again countdown from 10 then set the hook 🪝 good luck man
