How to Make a ZINE in 24 Hours | riso + screenprinting
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It was a crazy day, making this zine in 24 hours! This is the sketching, illustrating and printing process, with a couple of mini struggles in between. I put together, mostly at home, with riso printing, and I printed the cover with silkscreen / screenprinting at the silkscreen studio (Miniprint Seoul). As hectic as it was, setting a deadline of 24 hours definitely helped me hustle to finish this zine---without getting stuck or being a perfectionist!
In this process video, I'll show you how to make an illustrated zine on a deadline. If you made a zine, what would it be about?

I'm making a zine for the first time for a uni project (I'm a design/ art major). This video is so valuable!! I love seeing your process and I love your art style. For the lettering did you write it by hand or use typed text for reference and then trace on a different layer? Use guides?
I recently *borrowed* some Riso ink tubes from my school, they’re in paint tubes and idk how to use them but they look so beautiful.

wow! that's interesting--so they gave you the entire large ink tube to take home, or did you bring home like a mini version to experiment with? I've only ever used riso ink with the printer :-) I think if you're using it with a brush or applying in some other way, the main thing is to use paper that is absorbent (so doesn't have any coating!)
So lovely 🥰
