How to Make a Winter Fairy Village | DIY Winter Village Christmas Decor | This week I am slowly dipping my toe into holiday decor and making a DIY Winter Fairy Village. Since making my little DIY miniature witch's cottage out of cardboard a few weeks ago for Halloween I have been left with an itch to make more miniature houses.
I remember the little snowy winter wonderland village my mom used to set up at the base of our Christmas tree as a kid. I know these little village scenes are very common around the holidays and I thought it was the perfect time to create one of my own but this time using materials I sourced and foraged from my own backyard.
This is honestly one of the most inexpensive holiday DIYs or DIYs in general and such a fun little touch for your Christmas, or holiday decor. I used cardboard from old packages as the base and frames for the houses and found lovely bits of bark everything from cedar to birch, pinecones and other conifer cones, twigs, moss, all the kind of materials I would image a little fairy or hobbit would use to craft their whimsical fantasy home.
I wanted each miniature house to have its own individual touch of whimsy and experiment with different quirky shapes, angles, and textures. I take you along with me while I craft this little winter wonderland showing you how to make these houses as well as additional village props and how to set up and build a simple tiered system to give the illusion of a snowy mountian.
