For that lamp - it looks off because the lampshade and base are too narrow in relation to the center column. Also, having lived through the 70s, I can attest to the fact that not everything was weird swirly colors. 70s lamps had wood columns, you know, to match the wood paneling on the walls. 😂

How cute! I like your pistachio shell bath idea as well.
The "something not quite right with this lamp" is that the lamp shade and the base of the lamp are out of proportion to the lamp itself. It needs a thinner bead at the top where the lampshade meets the lamp, and the foot/base of the lamp should be wider to prevent tipping. Jmo. Your work is amazing, though, and truly creative af!

As I'm sure others have noted, the floor lamp looks "off" because the shade doesn't balance with the width of the beads. It should be wider. Perhaps also the shade could sit up a little more? Definitely wider though. Love your content - you're so clever!

Re: Standing lamp Suggestions: The base is thick so it might look better with a different shade... something more saucer-like.❤
As for the floor lamp, I think the beads on the center pole are too thick. More slender ones would make it look more too scale. The rest of that lamp is wonderful! Especially that shade.
