Yes it is very much true.. Just a combination of red brick pieces, good quality charcoal, coarse sand and nice sand gives a crystal clear water... In fact it removes dirt, salt, iron content if any and oil impurities also. Water taste will be changed completely.. The hardness will be converted to soft water..

You can construct even with Sintex tank also... Any hard or dirty water could be changed to mineral water quality... But periodic servicing is a must.

Nice to use a digital ppm pen to show the ppm of the water before and the ppm after filtered so people can get a visual proof that this works. For example before filtration water ppms was maybe 170ppm parts per million of solids and after filtration would probably be 4 ppms. I would simply suggest crushing the charcoal it increases the surface area making it more effective. Also there is a huge difference in activated charcoal and just regular charcoal that comes straight out of the fire, regular charcoal is no were near as effective as activated charcoal in regards for filtration of water, smells etc...

A little deceptive. First you take dirty water from the pipe on the right, then you filter clean water from the pipe on the left hand side. Why don't you just connect the filter to the first pipe on the right that has brown water? I mean what is the point of showing us dirty water from one pipe, and then filtering water from a different and clean water source?

I live in the Philippines too & Know for a FACT that this would not be good enough to filter even deep well water... But it is a nice filter for rain water. There are plenty of videos you can watch to help you build a better filter for cleaner water.

This is why people suffer tremendously with Helicobacter pylori. And for many like myself who live in America drinking well water without proper filtering system are now living with life long pain. My advice to anyone with unknown sources of water would be to boil water for at least three minutes before using as a source of potable water. Trust me you never want HP it's a living Hell!

Not claiming this wouldn't work BUT are we actually seeing it work? I mean, the water from that faucet is obviously clear already. He pours clear water into a glass that has dirt in it. Which for demonstration purposes is fine. However, when he finishes the project he isn't putting that dirt into the first phase of the filter to see if it will get filtered out. We can clearly see this as he pans the camera over the top and we can see it is crystal clear all the way to the bottom of the first stage... which is supposed to be the dirty water.
