I use a similar method but I apply the transfer paper onto the decal with the vinyl still on the mat (weeded), then I do the full cutout on a heavy cardstock setting for my vinyl. Avoids any dirt getting onto the transfer from the mat.

Wow! So instead of trying to cut the sticker / decal itself and then cut out the sticker as a whole you trick the machine into doing by making it cut the outline more times! CLEVER! I'm been struggling to get my machine to "line up" when I cut it the second time.

Hello @KarleyHall. I'm sorry to reach out to you on KZread, but I think if anyone is going to have an answer for me, it's you. You keep yourself well versed on crafty "gadgets," so perhaps you know what the device is called that I'm looking for and may even have a recommendation. I'm seeking a handheld device that I can point at a sheet of cardstock or a piece of vinyl, and it will give me the hex color number. (I know how to get the hex color number on an image on my monitor.) My sister and I do a lot of custom work, and it would be so helpful to be able to create the item with the hex number that matches my blank. Even though my design is sent via email, and hex numbers can vary greatly on monitors, I'm still pursuing this device. Someone told me it's called a spectrograph, but I'm not finding anything matching that term when I search. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

I can making one vinyl sticker this way but not if I’m planning to make lots of them to sell. Is this something that you mean you charge a customer to make a specific single vinyl sticker for them?

If I needed 100s/ 1000s of something I’d order them from a professional sticker company. But for limited runs- this is how I recommend making them.

Just wondering, could you mirror your transfer cut image and place the transfer tape sticky side up to do the cut so you don't pick up anything from your mat?

I have tried way back when- and I had issues with my blade sticking! I’ve also tried to put it on a parchment paper liner and it didn’t hold well enough. But most transfer tapes come with a liner so it’s a non issue for most!

How do you use two colors. Every time i try to change the color it marks it all the same.

Your image needs to be multiple colors already (multi layer). If it’s not, then you’ll have to separate your elements into different layers.
