G'day Mate, just found you on the Timbecon channel. Always good to see a newer Aussie maker channel on the tubes. This is a brilliant idea I might steal one day, such a great use of space and makes these glueups much easier. Pretty sure you can swing it with traditional pipe clamps but the double clutch is a nice feature.

Thanks mate. Really appreciate it. Go nuts, I find it a pretty good use of space. The double clutch definitely makes the shelf work better as the shelf can slide up and down on the back of the pipes without hitting a fixed head. But yeah you could probably sort something out. Thanks for the follow 👍🏻

I definitely didn't invent this type of system. I took the idea from some commercial setups I had seen and redesigned a "home use" clamp system. The idea of the T-section/pipe I hadn't seen before. Much smaller setup than the commercial ones I'd seen too. 👍🏻

Brilliant! Could lego-hand hooks on the end instead of the T-pieces, could allow quick addition or removal of clamps to the setup?

Quite possibly if the job being clamped isn't too heavy. With the thread though they do come off pretty quick anyhow but I like your thinking 👍🏻

Any lessons learned after 9months? How do you ensure the bottom clamp heads are all level to one-another?Glue drip catch feedback would be helpful, too. Thanks!

I use a spirit level to run along the bottom clamp heads to check they are all level. I run a length of brown wax cooking paper across the bottom ledge to catch the excess glue. The space saving aspect of the rack is definitely more of a positive than the accuracy. Everything I glue up has to go back through a thicknesser anyway, so it did the job for me. I have since moved into a commercial factory so I don't use it as much anymore. I still use the clamps but on our big glue up tables that are nice and flat. But it still comes in handy for the odd home project from time to time.
