In this simple tutorial I show you how I make trap beats in GarageBand by using MIDI and the software instruments included with the program. GarageBand now has some surprisingly high quality hip hop beats and drum samples included with the factory presets.
It wasn't always the case but it is now entirely possible to create release quality music with the techniques I can teach you and the free software that comes with the Mac operating systems.

    Trent Davidson its always hard at first, but if you keep making beats you will improve over time. my first beat was pretty bad but I kept making them and now im pretty decent.

    Naah. Just practice. Watch videos like this and just try to rebuild the beat then you will get an idea of what to do and eventually you will do the basic stuff by heart and you can start to get more into detail and find out what your sound is like or you will develop one!

I am going to be posting another song sometime in the near future now that I know how to fully navigate myself around the program

    Maybe you have to add some reverb and/or delay from the master effects section on the smart controls. Apart from that I can't think of what might be going on to make it sound so different. 👍

    can you create 808s on Garageband

  • @bryantclayton5711

    @bryantclayton5711

    Yes there are. For beginners what i would recommended is going to the electronic drum kit and click on the boutique 808 kit. If you then go to the midi piano roll north of C3, you should be able to play 808 notes. But those sound generic. And unfortunately GarageBand doesn’t allow you to sidechain your 808 patterns to kicks or sub bass lines. What I would recommend is to layer your 808 patterns with a sub bass of your choosing and a kick, then EQing them out to give that signature trap punch and depth your are looking for. I know this is all fairly complicated but an example of how it could sound is here: soundcloud.com/b_harms/gripina-flipina Hope you enjoy. P.S. the levels are all over the place with this song. Purely meant to show you the potential of GarageBand for drum patterns and 808s.

    Just a hypothetical question, if you was to be hired as my personal producer how much would you charge period🤔?? Weekly ? Monthly? Or Yearly? Prices??

  • @StudioHacks

    @StudioHacks

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the question, here is Australia it's pretty standard for producers to get somewhere between $30-50 per hour (Australian $$) which is $25-$35 usd. The prices usually vary depending on the job ie for a short 3 hour session I might charge more but if I lock in a project for a few weeks ie longer term the price will be lower per hour. I am towards the higher end of that price spectrum as I have my own studio.
