How to Make a Traditional Symmetrical Triangle Flower Arrangement

Lets take a look at another version of the very traditional triangle arrangement. A hugely popular design in commercial florists shops and a much loved flower arrangement used by flower arrangers using garden flowers.
In our last video we looked at a very simple version of this design, just using standard carnations. Todays version introduces lots more flowers and foliages and talks you through how to make a country inspired triangle flower arrangement.

I am so very grateful to see you on Facebook. I had been wanting to see all the different styles of arrangements. I'm not even sure how I came across your video except to say I really believe my heavenly Father brought you across my path and for that I am really thankful. I truly enjoy watching and listening to you teach. God bless you!!! I have been doing something with flowers for around 35 years now, but I prefer silks. I like real flowers, but I like the fact that silks are so flexible and last.

@@sharondower Could you show a pedestal arrangement? Church flower arrangers have very limited budgets which means relying mostly on supermarket flowers and usually have to beg steal or borrow foliage! Quite a challenge so any ideas and tips from you would be very welcome!

Sharon, this is exactly what I need for Christmas! I’m using white flowers and holiday greenery from the floor at the front corners of our altar. I’m thinking a V shape to wrap from front to side. I’ll look for pure white and creamy white flowers against a backing of cedar and/or fir. Some Bells of Ireland for that bright green.

Lovely tutorial. I wonder,🤔I was told some 30 years ago that you should not use scissors when cutting flowers for arrangements, because it will crush the flower veins and reduce water supply. Today I see many people using them instead of a sharp knife. Are the flower handling methods changed so much over the years?

  • @sharondower

great comment, when I'm working as a florist, I use a knife for speed and to protect some delicate stems but I still need scissors and secateurs for woody type flowers. I choose to use a scissors on the KZread channel because the channel is aimed at beginners and without proper training, a knife is difficult to use and I wouldn't want anyone to have a accident!! But yes, you were correct, a knife is great for florists

Hi Jannie - many thanks for watching, currently the volume is as high as it goes, but their are plans for a microphone (just can't decide which one) - also each video has subtitles if that helps. Also I have a strong Welsh accent, so that probably doesn't help.
