How to make a Tope Rig

Tope are a hard fighting, sharp-toothed small shark. They frequent British Waters during the summer months and are notoriously hard fighting. It is important to have the right rig set up in order to land these fish safely. Graeme shows you how he ties his Tope Rigs that have been incredibly successful in his fishing.

Do you just tie your braid to top of your wire trace or do you use a heavy mono leader from braid to top of wire trace. If so what length

In the October holiday i went out on a boat from puerto del carmen, lanzarote and lost a 100lb+ stingray, but i managed to land a 40 lb tope!

I suppose you could but its more for straight downtide .I think it will spin when you try to cast it.

The with that rig its that if you cast full Mack the light led will stay behind up to 20m

akfr83 when i go we normally go 30 miles offshore on sand banks off yarmouth in about 20-30 mts of water on a spring tide so dont bother casting just drop it down tide and i use 12 oz of lead
