You can adjust that based off of how much you fold in, i found mine to be a bit too wide for my liking so i folded more in

All of a sudden I only want to wear suits, and that's how I ended up around here. Can't wait to get started sewing :-) 🤍🤍

This is adult size. If you have a kids tie at home copy the pattern and then use the same sewing method as the video.
