How to make a Stump and Sandbag for Sheet metal Shaping.

In this video, I show you how I make a stump and sandbag to shape sheet metal with a soft hammer.
I did not have to buy anything for this project. The stump was in our garden, and the leather was from an old briefcase that I cut up. The sand I found in the woods.
The best sand to use is play sand, plaster sand, or sea sand.
Another idea for a sandbag will be to use a rubber warm water bag (those ones you use in winter in your bed.)

Wow what an interesting set of tools. That stump really could have so many application when it comes to metal work. I have had a vision of abstract copper forms in my garden where creepers could find there way. The sandbag is also unique, I have only seen the round sandbags that jewelers use. The way you sewed the leather was also interesting and I have seen cobblers who restore hand made boots and shoes using this way, so clever. But your pattern with the gusset and the screw top and then the old plastic bag, amazing. Love the way you think. Thank you

Thank you Anita! I also thought to simply use a warm water bag filled with sand would also work. However, most of them have patterns on.
