I was decorating my kitchen for Fall and thought, man I need a stove cover. I thought of buying one but first went to KZread. You're freaking AMAZING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
TYFS I also appreciate the tip/info on mixing up the stain. It’s beautiful!
Thanks so much for sharing the details on how to make these stove top covers easier, more efficiently and save some money! Your videos are precise, your voice easy to follow and without distracting music.
This was a fantastic tutorial. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain why you've made certain choices. As someone who is a complete woodworking novice I feel like I've learned a lot of great tips that could help me with other projects, too!
Excellent video!! No music, much appreciated!! With as many people asking about making one for gas ranges, you really should make another video!!
One of the best, and to the point, instructional videos I have watched on KZread!! Very easy to understand and follow!!
Yay! A fellow gamecock! Great job! It turned out beautiful!
This was absolutely awesome! Thanks so much for the precise explanation of the process!
I like your way of making the noodle boards. Much easier and less wood waste! Great job and thanks for sharing!
I didn’t know I could follow along so well. That’s because you ironed out all of the kinks. Well done!!!
I love this .You did a great tutorial, step by step instructions .I really like the color stain you chose . Thanks for sharing.
This video was so good I watched it all the way through after realizing this wasn't what I was looking to build. Lot's of good tips in here for any wood working project. Thanks!

You have me curious. What were you looking to build?
Man that was so easy. I’m making my my stove cover now but with vertical 1x4 with a hole to act as the handle. But thanks for this, this is way easier. The stop with the miter saw was genius. I’m a beginner wood worker and said to myself wow I didn’t think of that, I was measuring and drawing a line or would put the first cut piece on top of the full board and would butt it up against the saw blade but this takes all those steps away. Thanks for the tips!
I’ve always made mine from 1x6x10 and 1x4x8. That gives me enough for the sides for 2 of them. I’ve never glued, I’ve always screwed through the bottom with 1.25 inch screws. I enjoy seeing how other people make them
Simple and straight to the point and beautiful! I love the way you explained everything and put this noodle board together in a jiffy, aside from letting the stain and acrylic dry. I'm a DIYer and promised my daughter I would make something for her new home and thought about making this. I was looking for ideas and inspiration on KZread, but not before I measured and remeasured my stove a hundred times, lol, before coming upon your channel. You make it look so easy! I will definitely use your instructions especially knowing I can save money by buying just one board since wood has now doubled or tripled in price than two years ago...but to keep it under $20 is still a steal, compared to how much they are going for on Etsy. Now I can make one for her and one for myself too =) Thanks so much for the informative and educational video! God bless...Blanca
These are great and they are the absolute easiest DIY project you can do !
Great video. Clear explanations. Beautiful product. Thanks.
Wow! $15 and a little of your time can make that? Amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Amazing as always Ryan!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!
Wow!! This is amazing. The product is awesome and you did an incredible job making the video.
Great idea. I have thought about something like that but never made one. Good ideas with a quality build. Keep the video's coming.
Thanks for this. Even a novice like me was able to make this. Came out great.
These are awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent job on explaining and thanks for taking the time to share this with us.
That is absolutely beautiful! I have been wanting one of these for a very long time now. One of my friends has an old antique one, which is really cool also. I really appreciate you showing step by step how you make them, how you only use one board to save money. It was amazing the little thin strip of scrap you had left over. I think the handles you use are very nice as well, and I appreciate the tip on how you buy them in bulk. I enjoyed the video. Thanks so much for sharing! 😊

This is beautiful. I showed my husband tonight and he’s going to get 2 of my grandsons and make a few of these for family and friends for gifts, plus it’s great bonding time with them. They love spending time with their Pa and “working” on projects. Thank so much for making such an informative and helpful easy to follow video.

Ryan, man I don't normally comment much on videos but this DYI was fantastic. Nothing cheezy and just what I needed. I have successfully made 5 of these now following your exact process. Thank you Ryan. Keep up the fantastic work pal.
Wow thank you so much for simplifying this process. I am going to use these to make X-mas gifts this year.

Looks great and glad to see you're using the splitter on the table saw. Only personal aspect I'd add would be to stain before you add the side boards on there permanently as you have a lot of areas showing where the stain was missing. Otherwise great work.
You make em just like I do. Very cool 😎
great video.

Thanks! Build you one!
I made two yesterday. Haven’t put a finish on yet, but very happy so far. We did put biscuits in the middle, my husband does a lot of woodworking and he doesn’t really get the rustic thing. He always makes thing like a piece of furniture. That’s ok. Just takes a bit longer. I did have one that warped? He’s working on that. I think my vertical board, from the end was warped a little. I made that one by myself. He wouldn’t have used that board...lol. Oh well. Hey, much thanks. Love the woodwork. Your video was so much easier and made this cheaper to make. Always appreciate that. Hope mine looks as good as yours. 😊

I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I keep a melamine foam brick and a box melamine sheets by my wash sink for the stubborn ink/dye/stain patches that just won’t rinse away so easily. It’s the equivalent of 3000 grit sandpaper. Run it and your hands under the tap for a second, then shake off the excess; add a bit of the right kind of soap/solvent for the particular stain and scrub gently. It is is extremely helpful for removing ash dyes and gentian violet… a life saver. Also - exfoliates! Treat yo’self! I

Is that something that could be made out of a pallet?? Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!!
Great 👍
Nice 🔥
You did better than I ever could in a month of Sundays. But I don't really care for the rustic look. It was the in thing so I think it's on the way out. You look at KZread videos of 1940s and they changed about three times sense then. Thank you for the video.
Very nice 👍
I live in a small apartment and desperately need counter space. Thank you for my very own Xmas 🎁 My stove only has 2 working burners so I use my own electric skillets, griddle etc. Now I don't have to rearrange my counters to do a nice dinner.
Really cool if covered in epoxy resin but this is very nice!

Cool. I made one with an elevated base instead of flat like this one. Came out good. Subscribed. =)
This video has been great for me for flat top stoves! I have a question what would you do for a gas range stoves?
Damm that was a good educating video, nicely done.
This is awesome. Do you also have a video for gas stovetop covers ?
I just made this!! The only issue I came across is the wood I bought from Home Depot was warped and one piece seems to be wonky. I would recommend spending a little more and buying it from a small local lumber yard.

Very helpful. To clarify, you don’t have to glue each board and nail? I didn’t see that. Thank you!
those tools are terrifying! Thank goodness I can just buy one! Thnx for the education tho, you know your stuff!
Thank you for sharing. And thank you for telling me to stir my wood stain paint. It was coming out so thin. I’m an idiot. 🤦🏾♀️
I have been wanting one but the cost is too much for me so I’m going to try this. I’ll have to get the board cut at lowes & I’m going to make sure they follow your cuts to the T! Thank you for showing us how to do this & everyone plz wish me luck. This will be the first time I work with wood in this capacity.

You got this
I would add 1" felt pads in each corner on the bottom for glass top stoves
Great video!! May I ask what size quick clamps you are using ?
I made my first one before even watching a video just saw a pic and went with it lol. I sanded the pieces and stained before I even put it together. Your method looks faster. I have to make another one this week so I’ll try that out. I also put the handles on before I glued it down. I countersunk the screws so it would glue flush and I used screws instead of brad nails . I feel like I’m doing wrong by using screws. What do you think?
So awesome. thank you for that video. Question on the acrylic sealer. Can you use a stencil and acrylic paint for customization over this or would you add that before the acrylic sealant?
@abelmorales4303
3 жыл бұрын
Paint your customization first then add the polycyclic. 👍 I prefer to use acrylic paint and stencil over vinyl. I do use vinyl for my stencil purposes though.
Awesome work! I’d like to make one for my wife but don’t know where to get the stencil . Can you please advise . Thanks.
Would you make and ship this to Georgia? If so how much? Love this!
Those glue lines on the inside edge is fire

New Subbie!
Just saw this and it is amazing. As a single retired woman, can I make this with just a skill saw/jig saw? I only have basic tools. (And I am also in South Carolina)
The reason the handles come with sets of screws, the short ones are for doors and the longer for drawer fronts.
Wow, your video makes it look so easy. My biggest challenge when purchasing lumber at my local HD is finding some that are flat and not twisted, cupped, warped, etc. Any suggestions ?

Thanks for this video. I might have to try and make one. What do you normally charge for these?

Great video, newly subscribed now How do you position the crowns of the boards? All up, all down, alternating or does it matter? Thanks keep up the great work
been working with wood for over 30 years. Tip: if you get wood stain on your skin, use vegetable oil and rub like you're washing hands, and it will remove it! Great job btw
