How to make a storage trunk out of reinforced plywood 💪
How to make a wooden trunk out of 10mm plywood. To make this storage trunk I make a template to reinforce the 10mm plywood with some wooden strips. And then I put together al the parts to make the wooden trunk. I also install simple hinges, a simple lock, wheels and metallic hangers to this toolbox. This is a simple and cheap storage chest that we can make in a small woodworking shop. It will work perfect as a tool chest to keep our brand new tools or our diy tools.
Watch here how to make the jig to cut the 10mm plywood boards:

Yes, very useful for shop storage.
Very well demonstrated and edited. thank you :-)
Professional work! Congrat!
Fantástico, Sergio. E muito fácil de fazer. Parabéns pela idéia e obrigado por compartilhar. Abraço.
Very good project and job 👍👍👍
Awesome Sergio !!!!
Great project, great job, and useful product at the end !
Brilliant idea. I think I will make two, stacked on castors, but put the doors on the front to make mobile storage for larger hand tools that take up space. With a big mobile tool box, I can store them anywhere in my garage and free up a large space, just by wheeling the chests around. Thanks for the inspiration.

Woodworking is easier if we have a stapler and a nailer 😅
Nice work.
As always smart and flush. Nice job 👍🏻😁
A simple but fairly effective trunk design. I especially liked how you made a quick jig just by screwing in four pieces of wood into the work surface.

i like these trunks very good dear
Very cute trunks. I think two small trunks of different sizes stained and stacked on top of each other would make an attractive lamp table. Kind of a "Shabby Chic" look

Sure it would look very nice :D. But it is easier to make lots of the same dimensions than a few ones of different dimensions :D

@@WoodworkingwithDIYtools why not lots of every type of box?!! Do you think this design is strong enough to be sat on by a 80-90kg person?
Nice video
Bravo, simple et efficace Traducción de Google Bravo, simple y efectivo
Nice and straight forward. Great storage boxes for many uses. 👌 Maybe clear coat the frame/support pieces and paint the plywood panels? Are you going to video the pain job if you decide to paint them? Be nice to see the final product. Good build, mate👍
very very nice. I like it. Great explanation. Sharif from pakistan

very useful for storage in the workshop i will make these but may put a lip on the underneath of the lid just to help prevent dust getting inside

i think your lid is fine but in workshop the rim would help with dust, great build though

Thank you very much. I'm sure if being more meticulous when making these trunks and using better materials, these trunks could be made much more beautiful 😀
Might as well make 3 while you have everything set up for cutting and assembly. A sturdy storage box of like weight materials. Nice job.
very good job man form Italy🇮🇹!!! i like it

Very well done and explained. Thanks for sharing. What electric tacker/nailer do you use? (brand/type) Are you satisfied with it/would you recommend it? Many woodworkers have tackers/nailers on air pressure. But I do not have a compressor so a good (and not too expensive) electric nailer/tacker is what I'm looking for.
Thinking about making one of these to store Artificial Christmas Tree instead of box.
I like you videos very much. You have such good ideas. I wish you were my next door neighbor! LOL!

Nice project! :) Can I ask why you call the plywood sheets as an "marquetry boards"?

I was thinking the same question.
Great job! Do you ship to Hungary? :D
Dear Sir, A very well conceived jig for assembling accurately cut plywood panels into coffers. I was somewhat curious as the circular saw you used? Is it a 190mm blade with how many teeth to obtain such clean cuts in ply. I think as you have three, perhaps one oiled would look quite nice. Very well done. Kind regards.
How thick is the plywood, thanks
I want to build a box just like this but inside out. I need the plywood on the outside and the supporitng frame in the inside. It will be 33*40*6 1/2 inches. I need it to be strong enough to sit on it. Could you please post a video on how to build one box with a frame in the inside - somnething really strong?

I think it would work if, in the templates, I put first the plywood and then the strip reinforcements on it. But I should wait for the glue to dry. And then I would turn it to insert the nails. I could make a video, but not sure when. I am a bit busy this summer
How much does it cost to make a wooden box like this and how much do you sell it for?
Great Video. Thank you. P.S. I think you need to wipe off the lense of your camera. Cheers!
Hi I want make one but can you tell me the dimensions of each piece Please
What was the size of this box
Nice build, apart from the fact the padlock is pretty pointless when you could just unscrew the top part of the hasp lock.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, all the hinges and locking mechanisms are exposed.
Agree about the not using staples, comment.
So sad i don't know how to use power tool. The only electric tool i know is an old fashioned drill gun.
Why use a lock if you can unscrew it lol
Very fast
I wish I could make these boxes i can sell them $100 each
I can't make this........there are on metric tree's near me.
So flimsy. You drop it will bust into peices.
