How To Make A Stella Artois Clone At Home
Ойын-сауық
This one has been something that I've wanted to achieve for a long time, so as always..... It's homebrew time again! Check out this all grain kit.
You know when you're in work, and you mention that you make beer, there's always that one guy who's like "Can you make Stella?"
Well guess what, now you can say yes!
Thanks so much to the guys at The Malt Miller for helping out so much with this!

Here's what The Malt Miller had to say about this one....
When KZreadrs from the Oysterboys channel told us about their desire to brew an all grain recipe clone of Stella Artois it sounded like a challenge we wanted to help them with.
So after trawling around online reading up on the history of this pretty famous beer, watching videos, reading others experiences of trying to brew this popular beer we came up with our recipe based on the current 4.6% version rather than the original 5.2% UK version. This all grain recipe kit has everything you need to brew this version of the iconic Belgian lager that’s loved by so many!
Ingredients Included
Crisp Flaked Torrefied Maize
Oat Husks
Crisp Clear Choice Pale Malt
Saaz Pellets
Mangrove Jacks Bohemian Lager Yeast M84
Method
Beer Style (main): Other Origin Lagers
Beer Style (sub): International-Style Pilsener
Batch Size: 23L
Original Gravity: 1045
Final Gravity: 1010
ABV %: 4.6
IBU: 20
THE MASH
Temperature °C: 65
Length (mins): 60
Out temp °C: 75
Out time (mins): 10
THE BOIL
Boil time (mins): 60 mins
Additions and timing:
60min - 40g Saaz
10min - 15g Saaz
Add your yeast nutrient and protofloc tab at 10 mins too (not included)
Secondary additions and timing:
When pitching the yeast we suggest you also add in Clarity to aid with the clearing of your beer.
Yeast: 2 x Mangrove Jack’s Bohemian Lager Yeast
Fermentation temperature/steps: Pitch at 12c and hold for roughly 2 weeks (until FG), raise to 16-18 for D rest, cold crash and then lager for 4 weeks
Comments:
This is of course a lager, so you are going to need to have control over your temperatures to ferment this beer correctly and the ability to lager it before it can be enjoyed.
The first batch they brewed used Dingemans Pilsen for authentic Belgian taste, but after feedback from the Oysterboys (see their video) we switched things around and used Crisp Clear Choice for a lighter cleaner tasting beer, as well as changing the yeast.

ha cheers guys, live filming the parodies
Brewed this recipe a short while back. I kegged most of it and bottled what was left. Just two weeks later, I cracked one of the bottles and it was excellent. Really clear with no off flavours. Unfortunately the beer in the keg isn't as clear and I'm getting that apple after taste. Early days yet though. I'll give it another month. I wonder if the extra fermentation helped with the bottles ? Thanks for the recipe.

When you keg it, do you fill it with CO2 and then depressurise the keg, fill it and then burp it with CO2? fingers crossed the apple taste goes. It’s a true lager so takes awhile.
OMG ! Seriously guys that video is another level absolutely AMAZING intro seriously impressed. What a great beer although I can’t and shouldn’t drink many Stella act a t#@t ‘s nice work cheers 👍🍻

ha just make this without any clarification agents and you’re on to a winner?
Excellent video 👍🏻 I’m just about to cold crash then keg this lager 🍺 Did you carb during/after lagering? What Pressure? Temp? And how long for? Any help/advice would be appreciated, everything I’ve made to date has been hard to drink 😂

I force carbonated whilst lagering for about 8 weeks. the temp was number 4 on the fridge setting as I don’t have a thermometer in the fridge. Pressure was 20 Psi but I’m pretty sure my gauge is goosed so I roughly know where to turn it but the numbers probably mean little other than a guide. I would get it all connected up to the tap, start the gas roughly where you’d expect or slightly lower and then you can turn it up if required. taste every two weeks to see if it’s ready if you’ve the will power to stop if it’s not ready.
How do i do this in a pressure fermenter
Next a 1664 clone be alesome
What do we try and make next?
