    I know this video is older but it's so important. I HAVE A QUESTION: What size cable chain is best if you are adding several semi and precious gems to it as well as pearl's? Making my 1st necklace and would like to know for 10k and base metal chain. Can anybody help. It's for my mother n law and don't want it breaking on her.

    The center piece with two loops is called a "link" not a pendant.

    Thanks for sharing. How would you do this with pearls that don’t have those loops like the pendant shown here?

  • @JewelSchool

    @JewelSchool

    2 жыл бұрын

    You would need a pearl that has a hole drilled through it. Then just feed enough wire through it to make the loops on each side. Then, attach your chain with a jump ring.

    Thank you for sharing this video! This is beautiful! What size is the pendant connector that you used?

  • @JewelSchool

    @JewelSchool

    Жыл бұрын

    This is probably closer to a 10x12mm connector, but honestly, you can use any size. If the connector is large, just remember to adjust the chain size and weight to accommodate for the heft.

    What size jump ring is used on either side of the stone connector?

  • @JewelSchool

    @JewelSchool

    4 жыл бұрын

    I connected the stone directly to the chain (it came already set with soldered rings attached) but if you're making your own jump rings, 4mm is a great size.

    What is the size of the chain

  • @JewelSchool

    @JewelSchool

    2 жыл бұрын

    She uses a smaller chain for the necklace and larger for the bracelet. The smaller is typically 2.3mm and the larger is 3.7mm. You can go larger than that if you wish! Susan specifically uses a curb chain here, but honestly, the world's your oyster! Hey! What's the thickness of the chain that you've used?

  • @JewelSchool

    @JewelSchool

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Syed! When it comes to thickness, it's all about personal preference. In this video, the small cable chain is about 2.3mm in thickness. The curb link is a larger chain, so it will be about two to three times that size. Again, there is not right or wrong size, just use what you think looks best with your bead connector!

    These are a bit daintier. The jumps rings are 3-4mm and the clasps are a bit smaller than a 10x6mm. You can get smaller lobster claws contained in a kit with jump rings. Here is one option: www.jtv.com/product/findings-bulk-supply-kit-in-gold-tone-jump-rings-bails-caps-pins-clasps-appx-785-total-pieces/JSKIT0805A?mcid=XSOjsyt
