    Glad to see the vintage scallop punch being used and the sweet hello from the from Spellbinders Advent calendar. These are beautiful, the added shine from the clear cardstock adds to the uniqueness of these cards. ❤

    Those cards are beautiful. I have made the March 2021 Sheetload. I have never made clear cards but I have to say that those are really pretty. I have a Cricut cutting machine so if I were going to make the Hello sentiment, I would cut the background from cardstock and use htv for the letters. Much easier to get them placed that way. Thanks for all your inspiration.

    Thanks for watching! I do have a question on the vinyl idea. Is there a reason for the HTV versus regular vinyl? Do you apply heat to get it to stick to cardstock background?

  • @annettegraham4222

    @annettegraham4222

    When I first got my Cricut I tried using vinyl on cardstock. Me and transfer tape just do NOT get along. When I saw someone use htv, I bought the Cricut Easy Press Mini and never looked back. Works great on cardstock. I always press the htv before glueing. Glue does not take the heat well.

    You always find the prettiest papers! That's a great "hello" die set but I'd probably pass it by because of all the separate letters needing to be adhered. I've made a couple of cards using sheet protectors for the acetate part. They aren't really sturdy enough, but I've resisted buying the heavier pieces because of the price and I donate a lot of cards or help with card making at a local retirement center and I think they'd struggle. I pick and choose when to use rounded corners but I like the extra detail of them. Thanks for another terrific rewind.

    Love clear cards, dislike seeing the adhesive through the acetate. I solved that problem be running the pieces through my xyron machine. The adhesive is invisible through the acetate! Also, you can get rid of glue marks be using a little "Undo" adhesive remover or trying a little rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. Thanks for all the great card ideas Alicia. I enjoy every one of them.

    Hi Alicia. I have made one or two clear cards, but mostly use acetate, or clear card stock, for making shaker cards. I love this card and will be trying it soon. Thanks for the inspiration! And I agree with you, if someone is going to be so critical of seeing adhesive through the clear card stock, they may not deserve a hand made card. I just have to believe people can’t be that critical. I too fell in love with that hello die from the spellbinders advent calendar. It was my favorite of all the sentiment dies you got. Also, when I save your sheetloads to my files, page one becomes the thumbnail for the file, which makes referencing which file is which card very hard. Wish that could be the last page of the printable so that didn’t happen. Just a suggestion. 😉

  • @CallMeCraftyAl

    @CallMeCraftyAl

    4 ай бұрын

    So glad you have given clear cards a try and like that 'hello' die too :) I do appreciate the suggestion, and I now have to go by filename instead of the thumbnail too, but I need everyone to see that first page with the 'rules' and if it goes at the end, I think it will be ignored.

    I love these! So creative! I am pretty sure I used the original sheetload when it came out! I love the clear cards you made and how you selected what goes on the clear card stock vs the inside card! It gave the card great dimension! QUESTION is clear cardstock the same as clear acetate sheets? I bought a huge bundle of 12x12 clear acetate sheets a long time ago from Michael’s…. Not sure why, assume because I love the thought of making shaker cards! Lol. Could I use that? Also, I watched your advent series and immediately recognized your hello die! I really loved that one too! These cards are gorgeous!

    I don’t have any acetate from Michaels, but I am going to guess this is thicker. I use the 10mil report covers. Not sure if the acetate packaging gives a thickness. It definitely wouldn’t hurt to give what you have a try. :) Thanks for watching!

    I have done that as well. I usually try to use tape runner for adhering on the clear cardstock and keep it away from the edges of cardstock / paper, if possible. If you do use liquid glue and some runs over, you could try a bit of rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip. Thanks for watching and hope that helps. :)
