I'm FORCED....to practice friction zone+proper throttle and some full turn lock for around 80 ish % of the turn. What if you're on a hill and making a right turn, then what? You can still keep the right foot on the rear brake to hold yourself still, left foot on the ground and go right. You know why you can't? Because you never practiced this and go out and see how this feels. Go do nothing but right hand turns and keep your right foot on the ground. If you're not willing to go out and practice, you'll always have excuses and hate on those who can. linktr.ee/GregWidmar

I did this for a week religiously with my Harley before the MSF course. At the course if you eased out on the clutch you didn’t need idol. It just went by idol. Doing uturn drills I didn’t even touch the clutch nor the brake just a tiny bit of the throttle and i was doing figure 8 in the blue box with no hesitation and I was counter steering like you said. Now on my bike you have to use the clutch and brake because it will be too fast doing uturns…

I took classes and they said to turn the handlebar all the way while stopped then ease off the clutch and follow through but I kept struggling with confidence in moving forward. Hoping to get more practice. I need to build my confidence and trust that if I just go through the way I’m supposed to, it’ll go smoothly.

Took the MSF course back in May and just now starting to ride again. Today went on a test ride and amongst a multitude of wrongdoings, accidentally opened the throttle wide while turning right and lost control, think it was mainly due to gripping way to tight and not leaning enough/not counter balancing. Do you absolutely have to use the throttle in this scenario though or would using the friction zone entirely through the turn be possible?

What is the technique to do this without knocking any side cone off if you are asked to make the 90 degree turn from the middle not from one of sides with your bike having saddle bags on. I tried your approach but the lean of the bike from middle always knocked off the cone on the turning side. I was also challenged to put the front tire right on the line not behind to make the turn. I really need help as I closely follow your instructions
