Thanks but I’m not very gifted in slot of stuff. I’ve just used my back all my life for grunt work. Lifting an tugging on coca colas. But I can dream, especially when I see the things you can do. Thanks for your kind words! I usually don’t get replies back. Please think of them locking locks for your rod holders an storage compartments. I bought an old boat back in June an bout all the hardware on my storage an rod compartments are gone. Thank you sir!

Hey can you think of some kind of box thingy that goes in the back of the boat to hold onboard charger an all the batteries? I have a 1993 javelin that I bought in June of this year an the batteries slide everywhere an the onboard charger is just hanging on a plastic Tupperware thing. I’m in desperate need of a good fix for this if you don’t care to mull it over. I love your channel I watch it everyday,an I believe if someone can think of something you can! Thanks!

I really enjoyed watching this video on making rod holders. I was about to go out and buy about a dozen of them, but I believe I'm gonna have to try to make myself some. You have given me the confidence to make, rather than buy my rod holders, and I thank you for it. I subscribed for more of your videos, and I look forward to the next. That turned out perfect. Having the tips higher good job. Yea I love the way them are made and I follow his channel he loves the big cats to. Ide love to fish once with him. But that's never gonna be in my budget as the rod holders I can't see spending that much money on me. I was single parent 17 and half years. Ide get my daughter anything she wanted but me if it wasn't cheap or used ide do without. But there nice if I had welder again mine was taken when my dad passed just little wire welder but being disabled all these years if I needed something ide try to make it or do without. My money went to my daughter and my fishing group. Even my rides I tryed to do trades so it didn't cost as much. Or ide sell my stuff till I had enought then get it. But yea years ago ide made them in heart beat and prob sold also get my money back 2 to 5 dollars for me. Never made much on what I sold. But great vidoe again for the first time dude perfect. Great job. Keep it up and yea I'll go watch the one we're you painted. Them looked nice. Have a wonderful week. God bless

@@FishinNStuff thanks and that's cool you found your new wife me it will never happen again had to give up. But that's cool more time to fish and give lol. But yea that's what I had was one from them I'll save to get another one day. But till I can got to save for the helmet and gloves and what ever else I'll need and if I'm able to get me a better ride mine died and a camper to live in and travel little bit while I'm able to drive. I'll save and get one and as I travel I can make and sell. And the KZreadrs I'll be traveling to to go fishing and to give the gear I have away to the kids anything I make and sell will find me buying fishing gear to giveaway. So can't weight just hope I get the camper my cargo trailer kinda small to live in. Lol. But camper or no camper I will live in something to drive around or pull cause that's my last dream to follow before it's over. Just pray it's sleeping in something that will hold me. Lol. But I'll keep watching and learning love diy fishing stuff makes me think. Keep it up bro. And gods there always and he's good he'll show me my way I just got to listen to the right way. God bless.

That turned out real good. I like how you made those tops taller. I've had the same thought at times just looking at the angle and wondering if the rod would come out if I got a hit at just the wrong angle. So far it hasn't happened, but I've definitely looked at it and worried a little bit. I guess you could put some kind of stop around a post to keep the rod from sliding all the way up to the top and slipping over but longer is easier if you're making them yourself from scratch. Once again, you DIY a winner! Oh, does your wife know you're playing around with fire in the garage? 😂👍💯

Steve isn't worried about diy rod holder makers. It costs more in time and material to make them yourself. Just like building car's cheaper to buy one already built. If you have the skill and equipment your doing it for personal satisfaction.

I would have to disagree with you there 2 dollars for the 3/8s rod and 6 dollars for the plasti dip is hardly costing you more than 22 , but that 22 dollars gets you an awesome product, but it's still not cheaper.

First I wanna say thanks for you posting your awesome video on how to replicate the monster rod holder. I don't want to post negative stuff. I subscribed after watching the video. I put some value on my time. Gallon of plasidip is $60. Never thought the aerosol cans would give a good result. I just hate buying something and the majority goes to waste. I like to see the methodology people with more experience fabbing go about projects like this. I have a mig, torches,2ft square steel plate, big vise and a swing press (bfh)for small projects. I believe in K.I.S.S. but I sometimes drag the kitchen sink with me anyway in more ways than one. Especially when going fishing. I still like my machete rod holder maker too.

You can do it! Been there ,done that,I made 24 at one time,20 years ago....made that same jig,i used my cutting torch to bend it,that cutting torch will bend anything! .used the dip and it stayed on good, but after 20 years they looked ruff so I tried the spray, didn't like it! and it only lasted a few years and started peeling. i dont use them rod holder any more,i went to the fish bite holders, and for the price... i figured I would do just as good buying them as trying to make them.If you like making things and have the time to put into it, go for! i just dont have the time now days to put in to it.Good video.

If by chance you do get Galanized poisoning, you will get a migraine commonly as well as your muscles will feel very tense. I learned from a 80 year old man with about 60+/- years of fabrication, drink a glass of milk before hand. It'll reduce the chance but please, do be smart and take a few seconds to put on a respirator or mask of some sort at the least and open doors. Turn on fans.

if you find you get a crack in the weld where it joins to the stainless bolt you will want to change to a stainless steel electrode. Typically you use a 309L or 316L material when joining stainless steel to carbon steel. Sometimes welding with carbon steel filler on stainless steel will cause it to crack due to dilution.

I haven't had a chance too fish with it , i finished building it Thursday , bit its plenty strong enough. I mean a 1/2 will be stronger obviously but it's as strong as a Fishbite which are 3/8 as well I'll be using it soon . Personally I don't see how any fish could break it . I think Steve prides his company on overt building em I used 3/8 walmart rod holders and caught 50lbers and never bent one . That rod holder is extra strong with the welded cross braces . Just make sure your welds are burnt in good
