This video shows how to make a resin egg mold and cast a magnificent selection of eggs without having to sand or use a lathe. I have made several of the resin egg from this mold and I have loved everyone. You can use this resin egg mold to create many different eggs containing lots of different materials. I will be making another one using some wood inserts and then pouring in the resin.

    Heh! I just tried something a bit like this... Sort of! I drilled and emptied a chicken egg, washed and dried it, used hot glue like webbing on the outside to support the shell, and filled it with resin. Once it cured I peeled it a bit like a hard boiled egg 😂 It wasn't glossy, and my mica dust settled more, bit it's literally my first resin project and it turned out pretty well!

    I too woke up thinking hmmm a egg. Imma try it but I need to get those sheets you mentioned. I found a great mold making product made by BBDino...way better than the sticky stuff. Imma get right on it Thanks!! Beautiful work also!!

    Although I like all 4 eggs i am particularly intrigued by the pinecone. Just the thought of placing the pine one inside the mold seems daunting. Great video, as always

    Hard boil the egg...and I'd use a pringles can with maybe some mold release...its beautiful!! And imma try this soon.

    when you were trying to push out the real egg I was thinking maybe if it had been hard boiled first... then you wouldn't have had to worry about a mess. that is so amazing though!! was it difficult pushing in the pine cone?

    Steve you ate brilliant!!! I found this video just in time because I just bought at the dollar store a pack of 4 eggs made of a sturdy material ( Easter decorations are already available and it's only January?!?!). I am going to make my own mold so I can make beautiful eggs to place on a round wooden lamp platforms. I would not have thought to spray the egg with glossy sealant ahead of time. Thank you so much I won't waste time or money, no spoiled products!     Mould release is always helpful with tight moulds too. Though there's only so much you cab do with such a small hole!

    Great video, thank you Steve, I really want to make these! :) By the way, don't keep your eggs in the fridge. In the UK we don't need to because the coating of the egg is not washed off like in the US :)

    This video has been immensely helpful. I'm a soap maker in need of a very specific sized egg mold for a custom order. The customer wants the egg on its side but I can't find a goose egg mold like that. Anyway, thank you for posting your video. What if I wanted to mold the egg on its side? Would the silicone get all the way underneath it? Also can I use a wooden egg if I seal it?

    Absolute TRIUMPH!!!!! From one of your resin eggs you could make loads more moulds too if you wanted to make several with one pour to get colours matched up. The eggs are really beautiful, well done! How you got the fircone in there is a mystery but what a fab idea, it looks like a ship in a bottle type thing. The most brilliant thing about this is having no seam. A huge thank you for this, will definitely give it a whirl :)

    Steve have you ever tried to cast your own hand / finger in resin think you have to use a quick curing rubber something like dental impression material would be grateful for any advise fantastic eggs btw 😀

    Not only in a way do you feel like how a chicken or other fowls feel when it is time to lay eggs. I was thinking that you might want to put a small slice on at least two to four sides.
