I am obsessed with punch needling now! In the video, I walk you through my entire process when punch needling starting with making a frame, drawing the design, how to punch needle, and adding the backing to your handmade rug!     Another way to make a frame is to go to the art supply store and just buy four stretcher strips. Put them together and glue them. That way you don’t have to take any canvas off. It’s very easy.

    Nice design but need to have that canvas tighter when actually punching. And leave yourself a bit more of an edge for gluing down it will make it much easier. Blessed be

    idk tbh, i wouldn’t do it bc in order to create the right tension required for your punch needle stitches, you do need to use a specific type of fabric. and monks cloth is an even-weave fabric and you’d be better off buying that. and monks cloth isn’t rly that expensive per yard. you might be paying more for canvases bc those sure ain’t cheap especially the bigger u go

    I wouldn’t do it - I’ve tried to embroider through a canvas before for an art project and it was super hard bc of the thickness of the canvas. Monk’s cloth is perfect

    The monks cloth at Michael and Joann’s is not the real stuff. Real monks cloth has lines on it😊
