I made a cheap stand from items at Lowes. I purchased ($0.25/each) two samples for hard wood flooring, a metal floor flange and the connecting pipe, and a matching pipe end piece. The whole total was under $15. I already had two part epoxy. I first glued the two flooring samples together. After they dried, I generously glued the flange to the wood. Then, I just have to thread the pipe with its end cap on to the flange for an instant puppet stand. No cutting or sanding required. Plus, you can get various pipe lengths to match. I used a 30 inch to work on the puppet, but an 18 inch for display.

Nice! Also the cool stands for puppet is a tall stand for the toilet paper or the versatile stands for cameras, stage lights, even the hangers (with legs) for kids (without the hooks)

Love this build and all the ideas! I only have one puppet right now, but the stand I use is an old metal floor lamp with the electrical parts gutted. It's basically just been a useless stick that I considered turning into a coat rack, but now it has a purpose! (I could probably add some more rods around it to hold puppets like a shop display too.)

Love the wood stand. Sturdy and long lasting, and the black paint job really makes them look classy. The chair legs as stands was pure brilliance. You are so creative. You probably don't remember me, but I was working on a puppet music video over a year and a half ago. You wouldn't believe what additions I've made and even found a spot light that was dimmable and resizable to do some great shots. I'm a bit frustrated because I never knew it would take this long to prepare but I'm almost there. Thankfully I've seen many videos of people who say it's taken a year or two to finish their project, (one lady took 10 years to complete the original Addams Family house. Awesome completion) so it gives me hope. Been looking since then since I started last year for a resource that will help me make puppets with realistic looking people faces with different features and possibly some patterns even if I have to pay for it. All the videos I see are round face puppets with mouthplates and I really wanted to make a gypsy fortune teller female. Since I can't find one made (in my price range) (Cheap lol) I am forced to make my own. (It will probably cost me a lot to make but I'm willing to learn a new skill) I am willing to spend a few months to make it if that's what it takes and would be so grateful to you if you could point me in the direction where I can make a puppet like this. Thanks again for all the great videos you make and the pod casts as well. I've learned so much. Wishing you a wonderful day... PS I forgot to mention I use wire hangers for my puppet stands. I make a circle base and long stem upwards with a hook on top to fit in the hand puppet heads Quick and easy. Just wire hangers and a needle nose pliers. Fashioned them from some stands I saw on Amazon.

What do you think of using a coat rack for a single marionette? Could you modify one? Or I have an IV stand the height is adjustable. I may try to use as a display. Any thoughts?
