Do you think it is easier to set up on my PC (like you did) and then just copy/paste the stuff into the online server I'd rent, or you think setting up from zero on the rented server is better? mine doesn't appear to configure the mod like yours appears, for example, it changes the spawn of mod weapons

Do you have to start the server initially before you can successfully boot up the dedicated server? I’d get an ‘unknown’ message after attempting to load in using the servers name

I really don't know what I did wrong but I can not get the server to boot up with mods. I can run it fine in vanilla but it just won't boot with mods. It stops at the very first mod and just stops booting.

If it doesn't work, or it shows error with 'CFileWriterThread' write in text file "steam_appid" in the dedicated server replace the number with 108600

its exactly the same for me and i tried to fix it for 4 hours straight. Did u find a solution in the mean time? I tried following things: - Opening new rules for the server ports in firewall settings - allowing same ports in my router - using hamachi instead - using the nosteam.bat instead nothing worked yet and my friend is getting the same message in any case. Please help....

Are you trying to host a modded server? The first time initializing takes a long time when you have a lot of mods installed (for me usually it takes around 25 - 30 mins with the amount of mods I have.) You just need to wait and let it run. Speed may also depend on your PC's specs.

Is this possible to do on a steamdeck?

When i launched the dedicated server it had a bunch of code, "fatal error detected by java..." , "internal error (zmap windows)..." , "failed to commit memory" , etc etc.....F

Note!! Set the mods using the "Steam Workshop" tab FIRST, then you can select which mods and maps to use. You're the only one I've seen mention how to set the server name thus far. Thank you!!
