✅ How to make a micro RC balsa wood airplane / glider
Ғылым және технология
This time we're going to modify our last glider to make it RC, with a micro motor so we can have a lot more fun flying for up to 7 minutes. This balsa wood airplane / glider was made in a previous video which you can find in the link below.

Try not to fly this balsa wood glider in windy days or you may lose it!

Dam, you ran to that plane fast! You should try out for the Olympics.
you can lock the thread used for the tail control surfaces to the servo , rolling them under the servo screw used to fix the servo arm to the servo gears
Very nice video, the way you worked out the flying of the plane is great!

Thanks mate!
Hey, do you have a new link for the motors? The link doesn't work anymore
very cool.
I think a 2 blade prop would be better than those quad props. lighter and use less of your battery. maybe a 3" (75mm)?

Yes, but I only had those at the moment.
Nice video
The plane was very smooth
nice.
How is the electronic have installed with receiver.
Very interesting video! One of the things I want to do is a micro plane with fpv! If works I will do a video for sure! :D

Thanks man! puedes ver mi canal en español también "joyplanes rc" ya he visto algunos de tus videos.
im inspired :D
how do we power the motors? Do we need an ESC? Does the motor just go straight in the receiver? Thanks Bro !

He hard wired the lil motor to be powered directly from the battery...😐
Which model motor did you use?
WOW, I had the same problem with crashing balsa glider onto metal objects. Not motor powered, but very similar situation.
Quick question? With the batterys i belive there 2 cell? To they fit into the receiver??? Or will i have to solder diffrent ends onto the battery? And what will i need to solder?-Thanks

Alexander Jackson the battery is a single cell (4.2v) just connect the battery into the receiver any way you want.

Joyplanes Alright thank you!!As im going to buy all the parts and make a glider and maybe stick a motor on the front after, but im planning it to be launched by a rubber band

Nice work bro
Hey! can i use a 3.7v battery to power two 4.9v servos? Pleeeaaase respond!!!!!!!
@ayoubsoussi2015

You will need a boost/ voltage amplifier to convert your 3.7v to 5v
how did you wire up the motor to the receiver???
@Joyplanes

The motor was connected directly to the battery by hand.
So you don't have control of the Throttle at the moment?
@Joyplanes
6 жыл бұрын
No, I'm working on it with some circuits and also triying to program micro chips to do so.
You didnt used ESC?
@Joyplanes
3 жыл бұрын
No, in this one the motor is directly connected to the battery.
Can I use a foam board?
hi sir I realy want to know, do we can use that motor? because I see in another video,they use biger motor even their plane smaler than yours and what was the compensation if we use this motor, and how long do we can go with this combination, i am realy a beginer, and i want to know more about this motor, because if i use bigger want it double the cost that I spend,thank you sir

You can use this motor and you can connect it to the battery directly or you can use a brushed ESC to control it from you RC. This motor's life is shorter than the brushless ones but it is smaller and cheaper.
let me understand, the motor is conected directly to the battery right?
@Joyplanes

Yes, I didn't have a micro brushed speed controller.
How did you connect the DC motor to the receiver
@Joyplanes
5 жыл бұрын
It wasn't . I connected it directly to the battery in every launch. I could not control the speed.
Nice video! Can you please advise, do I need ESC or motor connects directly to receiver? Please advise? Thank you
@Joyplanes

In this video I was connecting the motor directly to the battery because I couldn't put a micro ESC, in a future video I'll try to make a micro esc to use it with it.

Joyplanes Try using the board from a 9g servo as an esc. You just need to put two 2.2kohm (if I'm not mistaken) in the wires go to the servo's pot.
Good plane
Nice
Let's also mount a parachute on top of the wing for a good vortex generator? Lol!
GOOD
Yeah, flying a plane without controls does have its disadvantages.
così si è.
Bro can you make a hand throw glider plane into rc

How big of a plane are you talking about? I ask because I motorize paper airplanes using micro drone parts. If its over 2ft wingspan, I dont think I could help. But an 18 inch wingspan would probably work great.

that reply was technically a big fark off.... ahahahahah
It's a nice airplane but it's NOT a glider. Gliders and sailplane don't have motors.
@Joyplanes

You are 100% correct but actually it's a hybrid because it can glide without a motor.
Well done, loose the music, carn't hear you with my hearing aid due to the bloody music. So frustrating. Perhaps next time my friend. Kevin

Sorry to hear that, this is an old video, the new ones have better sound levels (low in the music). Cheers.
Hi
This and similar plans can be found on the Stodoys website.
with plans from the Stodoys, doing something like that was a pleasure.
balance your audio and turn down that noise you call music, we're here for the specifics and processes not that ear rape
