    Looks like your glider has a decent glide ratio and your polyhedral wing provided good stability. Nice job! Enjoy flight and enjoy life, my friend.

    For everyone watching, and waiting to criticize, there is a difference between a glider and an airplane. Gliders have long wings to create as much surface area possible, therefore, building vertical resistance, letting it "glide" rather than falling straight down like a dart would. In the two trials, the plane pitches up, unlike a dart would, because it doesn't create lift, but instead, creating a little downforce on the tail, forcing the trajectory to extend, giving it a further distance. To glide, you don't need lift. You need vertical resistance. What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't go up with speed, but rather falls extremely slowly. That is a glider, so don't expect angles of attack or airfoils very often. Once again, there is a difference between a glider and a full-on plane.

    well it does go up with speed but then it just stalls and falls down into a gliding position

    Yes you can make a great glider even from the 10x2 you are given. .get the balancing and wing curve right as in small scale minor difference can be the decider...

    Why do you cut the wings seperately when you are gonna glue them together.... the front ones?

  • @doctorcreativity2418

    you can also do it that way,but by cutting them and again rearranging them a little bit upwards helps to create lift

    Balsa in this thickness range cuts very nicely with scissors. Much easier than a knife. With no apparent dihedral angle at the wing roots, I see no point in cutting them to length only to glue them back together again. Even if there is a dihedral it can be created the same way as the polyhedral tips. Lastly, the design may well benefit from a slight angle of attack addition. I will likely add that in the form of a shim. I'm thinking no more than the balsa thickness, and likely less.

    No aerofoil on the main wing. No angle of attack - therefore no lift. This is just a fancy dart. You don't create lift by twisting up the tail. Your glider is just stalling all the way.

    well sir give your glider an angel of attack and let us know if it can glide a meter even ... and yea this is a basic project and everyone sitting out there is not an expert to make an aerofoil .... and u should know the difference between a glider and and airplane .... lift is generated by motorized airplanes not gliders ... gliders glide ... i hope u have got ur answers

  • @georgechristoforou991

    Gliders also create lift. No lift means you have a dart and not a glider. Perhaps you should have a look at how a glider flies and the lift to drag ratio.

    well sir i know what you are trying to say , but correct your fact that lift isn't generated without aerofoil ... areofoil increases the rate of lift produce but lift is generated without aerofoil aswell .. you can find plenty of model out their in the market that comes without an aerofoil and glide great aswell , would u label all of them as DARTS ? .. and sure i will do my research work on what are you trying to say :)

    air is always present beneath the wings to produce lift unless you want to go and try stuff in vacuum ;)

  • @alexdeltoro1034

    @alexdeltoro1034

    The airfoil doesn't create lift, it changes the Angle of Attack so the wings can Create lift. If you design a plane that uses airfoil to create lift you will stall when the airfoils break from taking all the pounds of air force. And your statement that airfoils are used to solely create lift is contradicting itself which would suggest the wings don't create lift at all.
