    The size of your mirror will influence the patterns generated. Also where you put the mirror will affect it too. Bigger mirror gives more mass equals lower resonating frequencies. The drum resonates in an airys pattern before installing the mirror. The mirror will superimpose its own pattern on top of that. So the shape of the mirror matters. Slightly off center gives a better pattern imho. Two mirrors on the same drum will create complimentary patterns.

    It would be really cool if you used red and blue lights overlapping so putting on old 3d glasses would make a cool 3d laser show. Just an idea

    have decided this is the perfect experiment to do with my 9year old to explain how sound works and why we can hear things thank you for the idea I'm sure he will love it. he doesnt get long wordy stuff but has always been great with visual
