Misty, why not cut the orange peels directly out of the heart shapes and then you would have the orange peels in another project and you wouldn’t need to worry about the colour of the heart showing through?

I agree! It would cut down on the bulk from the fusible.

Cos then they don’t sell as much fabric
What a cheerful quilt design! I love anything with hearts. Thanks for your clear directions! Cutting two hearts out at the same time is brilliant!

i ended up cutting two blossoms at a time for my “flower child” quilt as well.
This pattern would make a beautiful table topper too!! Great job Misty. I just love the way you teach.❤
This would make a lovely quilt for a wedding gift, table runner or placemats too.
Love the quilt. Little hack for peeling paper off the fusible. Score the paper with a strait pin . It works everytime.❤
What a cute quilt. Easy enough to go quick. Cute enough to look complicated. I’m going to try this one. Great idea for charm packs.
So cute, do the hearts in green, orange peal in a lighter green and you have a shamrock for st. Patricks day!! 😂🤣. Hi Misty, from Manitoba. Canada.. ❤
What a beautiful summery quilt. I love the fabric, thank you for the great tutorial, and the tips along the way.
Beautiful.! 😍 Thank you, Misty.🎉❤
Well, Misty, it pays to watch these. I would not have thought to cut two hearts out at a time!
I would have trimmed the edges off the charm, moved the heart up a tiny bit, cut the orange peel out of the heart. That way you could use the outer frame and the orange peel in another block. That way there truly would be no waste, but a little more appliqué and have a second quilt.

Great idea!
I have some precut hearts and so now I have a pattern to use them. Hooray, Thanks for a great tutorial.
Great job! Looks like an easy quilt to put together!
Super cute quilt and great tutorial!
Too cute!!! Looking forward to making this with a scrappier look to each block. Easy pattern to play with the size of blocks and hearts. Also, can be done as a quilt-as-you-go block. Misty, love your cute top! Great job!!
Sweet baby quilt. I heard a rumor my third great grandchild will be arriving soon.
Love this pattern, cannot wait to make this quilt. Your tips are great to make it easier. Love the doubling up of the orange peel center, so clever!😊
So beautiful. Thank you
What a beautiful quilt. Could use so many color combinations. Thanks for another great job on giving instructions and tips, Misty.
Lovely quilt! ❤
I think this is a great quilt! Love the idea. I have not done appliqué and this would be a great beginner appliqué quilt! Love it! Also, I can see this in Red/White/Blue with alternating the colors in the hearts in place of the white! Thank you again Misty! 🌺🙏
Such a cute quilt. And easy. ❤
Love it, a beautiful quilt
Love this quilt for a little girl!
Now I have another pattern for my heart die cutter. Thanks the quilt is lovely.
Nice, I love easy applicated patterns, not fussy at all!
I love this quilt idea. Thanks
Thank you Misty for this beautiful quilt it’s adorable love the colors❣️🧵🪡✂️💖💗💕❤️
Don't throw away the rest of the square after you cut out the heart. You can use it to make another project. If you have some fabric that you want to fussy cut, you can use the square to frame it and make another small quilt. A 6 x 7 arrangement with borders would make a nice size throw or baby quilt.
Great pattern! Happy sewing!
Very cute Love it
Adorable!
Thank you Misty. That is a very cute quilt!
Misty, once again you do not disappoint! Such a lovely quilt, I will definatly be doing this one in my long line of to dos 😊thank you for teaching beautiful quilts !
I think that for the white orange peel I would back it with a fusible fleece and turn it. It would give it a nice texture

That’s a great idea!😊
I love this quilt! It would make a great foster child donation quilt for a local program. I think the extra orange peel layers would give stability and durability for a quilt that make get lots of use and washing. Thanks!
So cute!! Nice job! Thank you for sharing.
Nice one...looks fun!
Very cute quilt Misty.
Спасибо за идею!! ❤❤❤
So pretty I ❤ it. Thank you for sharing 😊
What an adorable quilt!
Love this pattern!
Great tutorial! Love this quilt!
A scan and cut or other cutting machine would work great for this project. I have the heart template from MSQ. My mind is running wild with this!
I like the white cutting mat, I have a dark navy but regret the darkness
Cute quilt! One change I’d make would be to put hearts of 2 different fabrics on each background square for a more scrappy look. To me, only matching 2 of the 4 hearts on adjoining blocks looks odd. I agree with other comments that using a white block on a white cutting mat makes it very hard to see in the video.
If you are custom quilting this on a domestic machine, you can do the stitching around the applique as part of the final quilting.
Awesome!😊
Love it! ❤
I love this, Misty. This is such a darling quilt. I can see it for many occasions. It’s lovely. I have a heart template I purchased from MSQC (not sure if it’s a half or whole heart - or one of each). I’m going to take a look. I’m thinking that it would be perfect for this project.

Great tutorial

When zigzagging, I cut my background squares larger for shrinkage and trim to desire size. I also fuse Reynold's Freezer paper on the back of the block and start zigzagging. It help to keep the fabric from bunching. I personally hate using invisible thread. I noticed her zigzag was not tight which will cause the fabric to fray after washing so use a tighter stitch with cotton thread instead. It is a cute pattern. Someone mentioned to just cut the center of the heart instead of adding the extra white orange peel piece which I would do too.
Misty, my darling daughter, this quilt turned out absolutely gorgeous! Love it so very much!!
This would be cute to make a baby blanket 🩷
Unless they have improved that invisible thread after a few years of washing and drying it starts to break and runs the quilting. So no matter what you claim I won’t use it.

Did you use nylon thread or poly thread? The nylon kind is like very fine fishing line. It’s a little bit stiff and scratchy. More recently they came out with the polyester thread that is smooth and fine. Wondering which one you had that problem with?

Yep
Beautiful. I do wish your company included more size options on your patterns though. Another great quilt for me to try .
Hi Misty. Love the quilt design. I sew smaller quilts so this would be a table runner. Thank you so much for sharing your creative talent with us. Take care. Blessings to MSQC.
Did you change out your pink shelves? I kinda miss them. Love the quilt Misty.
Hi Misty from Branson Missouri
Can you use the MSQ half heart template?
Question… why not cut the orange peel before fusing the orange peel? Then you don’t have to worry about color of the heart showing through the peel.
@donnahoward607

Exactly what I thought.
Next time you might consider using a differnt color cutting mate different that the color of fabric.
Is the heart the same size heart as the MSQC acrylic heart temple?

I was wondering the same thing. How do they compare in size?
Why hasn't anyone come out with fusible precut for precut? Like 4 1/2 and 9 1/2 inch squares? It would make projects quicker and less waste since the fusibles width are 18 inches.
@laris2328

Bc then they couldn't sell more fusible and make more money.
Only one template for the center of the heart was downloaded. Is the template for the heart itself downloadable? Also or do you have to buy the full pattern to get the heart template?
Where do you get the heart download, I don’t see it on website
Can you make this quilt bigger size
is the heart template the same as the MSQC heart template?
Is this heart different from the MSQ heart template?
How about instead of cutting two layers of the white orange peels how about using some fusible fleece on the back of the orange peel so that it would look a little puffy plus also not allowed the color to show through
What sewing machine is Misty using?
Hi
It's kinda hard to see what you're doing on the white mat.
Misty, I hope you can ignore the snarky folks! Geez!
I always love your videos, but today I felt a little frustrated with how much time we spent watching you iron. Maybe you could just go over it once. I know it was a little hard because you were trying to show how to iron on something special, but it just seemed like too much.
The camera work is terrible!
Oh Boy those nails are a distraction! My eyes keep going to them, wondering how she gets anything done?
This is a HORRIBLE pattern. Cut the centers of the hearts out, instead of adding fabric. Instead of that interfacing use a temporary fabric glue that will let you top stitch everything down. This will give you a quilt that doesnt feel like there are chunks of plywood all over it. And use less fabric. Sometimes its so clear all they want to do is sell new quilters random bs stuff that isnt needed.
