Dude! Thank you! Just got into biking and need to true up some wheels to keep me safe. Your zip tie idea is exactly what I needed. Side note, the two side zipties can double up as gauges for hop. Just line them up with the inside diameter of the rim and watch for movement. Thanks again.
Bro BRO.... you da FFFing man brother! your instructions are perfect, everything you say is bang on! you have opened my eyes in a much larger world! Thanking you! all the way from down under!
Going to try this when I get home from work :D best explanation I've checked out so far
I haven't finished watching it, and it's already AWESOME! This helps soooo much! Thanks Alfredo. You the man!

One of the first things I learned how to do...build and true wheels..saves a lot of money rather than having to pay someone to do it for you! Maybe on another tech Thursday you can show how to lace a wheel!

@blasterbretty6385
11 ай бұрын
yeah thats right but if you dont know what its all about then we're still in the dark, Mr Mancuso has explained it all very well and in depth! BUt heres the thing..... I like your way of thinking and I rekon I can do just what your saying!... just have to get those alignment clamps out in front of the wheel! Thanks @@MrLanternland
@MrLanternland
11 ай бұрын
@@blasterbretty6385 I never had alignment clamps. The legendary Thomas Avenia taught me how to true wheels in his old Harlem bike shop. I also used the antique wiring and soldering technique, and wheels i trued many years ago are still true today!
Excellent Tutorial!
this really helped! thanks :)
Very helpful tutorial. Look forward to trying soon. Could you clarify which direction is tightening and which is loosening? Counter-clockwise is...?
You Helped me out! Thanks a lot Alfredo 👊

Alfredo Mancuso one question, i almost fixed the hop in my wheel.. but the spokes at the point of the hop are really tight now and the opposite site is much loser.. all tho the hop is not that bad as it was. But what can i do to get rid of the God damn hop?😜
Nice video man. My back tyre is worn more in certain spots then others. Does that mean I have a hot spots then? Thanks
Thanks for the thorough tutorial! I'm gonna take the tire off of the wheel to get a better look for correcting the hop.
Hey Alfred great show bro, but what size park tool do I need for bmx wheels? Thanks.
Back at it again with a good how-to

Definetly gonna have to try this bro thanks..😉
one day ill try but for now my lbs will be payed for this lol. love your vids btw alf ive been binge watching them for days
dope vid how do you take a free wheel off and do you guys shop ship internationally because most bike shops here don't sell the newer free wheelss any links to buy those parts
I have been building motorized bicycles for a couple of months.4 so far. all the spokes on one side support the gear that the motor powers the bike with a chain. how would you suggest I true the wheel? tighter on the side supporting sprocket or looser?
I made the 1000 like. Great video
definetly useful good teaching

Aye yo! Early gang. I dig tech Thursday man. Again you break things down so well. Thank you! Now I've got a quick question, as far as rim hop goes, is there a point when you cannot correct the hop and scrap the hoop? I have two old hoops with bad hop in them but never was tech enough to solve my issues.
@AlfredoMancuso
7 жыл бұрын
Means a lot :) Yea, if the rim has completely lost its shape or there is a crack in the rim then its time to call it quits haha
thankyou love the inovation of the zip ties definately gonna use that

Great tutorial Alfredo. If the bottom of the spoke is facing out then I go under under over. If the bottom of the spoke is pointed towards the hub then I'll go over over under. Quick way to help me remember what goes where.

i really enjoyed that i've been trying to learn how to straighten rims out for the longest time but there must be something i'm just not getting because eveytime i try to true a wheel it winds up worse then when i first started,any comments?here's hoping to learn more from you'r channel

So taking the tyre off will make the cable tie for wheel hop accurate? I've rebuilt my wheels and would like to learn how to true and round them but don't want to buy a truing stand if I don't have to.

So rims aren't bent, they just need trueing? I was fixing my dad's old bike as a father's day present. Got new tires,tubes, seat and handlebar grips. He told me the rear wheel was bent. It has a couple of hops. just asking before I get a new rim.
What truing stand is that one ?
Thanks man
