Thanks for your videos Ekim Knives, I'm learning a lot, I want to build one knife too, however, when you talk about the counterbores, is it a 13/30" or 13/32"? and where can you get those? I looked for them on McMaster, no results

Hey mike, I've got a question. I've been looking into making my own knives, and I'm making sure I have most my bases covered first. When making a frame lock folder, what are the factors in making sure the blade is centered when it is folded/closed? I've seen so many knives made by respected manufacturers that do not have centered blades when closed. I'm trying to figure out how to avoid that and make sure the blade is centered to the best of my ability.

This is for anyone reading these comments... run the tap on a cordless drill . Drill a bigger hole then the chart recommends when using titanium. If the chart says #49 drill #47. Set your cordless drill a low setting for the chuck . Easy peasy . Oh you can also make a folder with just a drill press. This series should be called how to make a frame lock with the most expensive tools and machines possible. Those counterbores are 60 plus bucks when a step drill works just as good

I'd imagine you want the bearing track to be a bit larger in diameter than the encased bearings, anyways. It'll reduce contact and thus friction.
