How do you know the angle to cut the bottom to be even with floor?

if you use the same material as I did lay a 2x4 along side and pencil in a line that is parallel to the ground. You now have your angle on the item that needs cutting.

My little chihuahua doesn’t like the little stairs and she’s can’t jump up on couch or the bed now so I need to make one as cheapest I’ve found for one is 170 on eBay
