I'd been wanting something rustic to put up a few of my guns. So I set down and looked through Pinterest at all the different types of wall mounted gun racks. I finally found a few that I liked. I grabbed some basic tools and scrap wood. This is how to make a basic gun rack! I used some old lumber for a rustic look.
The project was really simple and quick. It took about 45 minutes to get everything put together. Here is a tool list that you'll need.
* Some type of saw - both crosscut and a jig saw type
*A screwdriver - Cordless or manual
* Nails or screws - 1.5" to 2"
* Drill bit to predrill holes for your screws
And that's it! Pretty simple gun rack!
You could get the boards at a lumber yard and have them cut the pieces for you. Then all you would have to do is cut the openings that will be holding the guns.
Here are the lengths of the wood I used.
* 3 - 1x4x21 inches
* 1 - 1x6x21 inches
* 2 - 1x6x12 inches
And that is it! That is all the tools and wood you need to make a basic gun rack.
A word about the wood. I would use a minimum of 3/4 inch or thicker wood. On this gun rack, the wood is about 5/8" thick. Kinda thin, but it will work for what I need. I wish it was at least 1".
