Hi I bought your pattern last week or so, but I have a question...the fabric I want to use is VERY lightweight. With that being said do you think I should double up on all pieces, add interfacing, or like use a denim fabric underneath ? I really want to stick with the fabric I have but I don't want to do it then it comes out right but its all flimsy. Plz respond.

The brim is very difficult. You just have to work the fabric in a position you like but the biggest tip is to use thin flexible fabric for the brim casing.

One is a sewing machine and the other a serger also called an overlocker. The sewing machine only attaches the two pieces of fabric. An overlocker will sew the edges together to stop them fraying whilst also cutting the material at the same time.

There are other techniques you can use to replace the Serger stitch. A straight sttitch followed by a zig zag stitch will hold together well but wont look as professional!
