This was needed! I appreciate it! I’m currently in college and I’ve been accepted to a potential internship with Dell Technologies. There were two options Tech Sales and Tech Support Engineer. For this training I chose Tech Sales and I’ll be honest I wasn’t feeling to confident about it. This interview couldn’t have came at a better time.

Good interview! Years of experience is key and taking time to learn what you are trying to do. I am retiring from military in tech and moving into system engineering. It’s something new so I have to start from scratch but looking forward to it. Great information you have to invest in yourself!!

My advice is to always finish college and get your masters degree when you are young it doesn’t matter as much but as a 50 plus professional it is my experience and masters degree that allows me to compete with younger applicants!

I have a background in sales for a major corporation and I would like to know about the work life balance in tech sales at Microsoft. Major companies tend to have fast burn out and 0 work like balance. Meaning you’re working from 7am to 9pm everyday and expected to use your weekends to prep for Monday. What’s it like for sales professionals at Microsoft?

It isn’t great! Tech sales no matter the company has bad work-life balance. It’s 50-60 hours a week minimum if you want to exceed quota. Great money and great start for entrepreneurship or early retirement but not for having a life.

another thing we as black people stop associating white or light skinned with more money or more sucessfull!e\we need to stop being jelous, stop being colorist against other sucessfull black people. just because ur a nurse does not mean ur rich!!!! just because u chose to be a teacher make 50k that ur choice. have an open mind people learn and educate stop being negative!!stop negative limited mind set

thank you ladies for being a positive role model. thr issue with jeloous people they are not used to seeing a balc woman earning 500 k yearly they have ani issue!!!instead of learning how to use their brains they get but shots thinkin gtht they gonna be millionaire by having plastic surgery. people dont wan tto study or educate and work hard they wan teasy life. people thin only white men earn 200 k they not used to seeing positive educated woman that used their inteligence instead of their boddies to make money. im sure mrs kalyla earning eway over 300 k a year but sme black people have self limiting beliefs. instead of drinking alcohol. medicating ourselves with drugs or sex people surround yourself with positive role models.
