​@@felixtoppo7741 i make the majority of my income out of Etsy, using Printify, selling personalised shirts. I also make some money out of Red bubble and Teespring, however i only make about 25% of my income from these sites.

I came across your channel last yr and I was so inspired to create t-shirts and start my own brand. I made notes from your videos, sketched my ideas, created my brand name, I was ready!! But as you tube would have it, once you click on a video, a million more just like it follow. As I scrolled down to see all of those other t-shirt videos, I started to think that there's no place for me in this industry, it's already saturated. So I put my ideas into a box and continued on with my normal life. But a yr later, here you are again, speaking to me, to US, to all that still dare to dream, with a part two of "you can do it too!" This time, I won't just watch, thumbs up the video and preced to next suggested tutorial. This time I'm going to take out my box and create my t-shirt business!! Thanks Greg!!!👍

Greg Gottfried That would be amazing to see and learn. I think it's especially incredible if you don't have to "hands-on" the real estate. Would you just use the services of a Realtor who is versed in out-of-state sales (as a seller's rep)? Would you buy all cash in order to avoid having a lender involved, which would slow down the buying and sellling process? Cash is king in real estate, so that could give you leverage to close very quickly and possibly at a more reasonable price.

I taught my kids about personal finance at a very young age, both 14 and 16 now respectively and are making $2k passively. If the younger generation can take their mind off social media, they can learn to make more money and earn financial freedom!

But large companies like Starbucks and supermarkets get at least 1 million a month. But then also taxs, and tips, and it's just alot. But you can do it!

Greg - I'm rooting for you. Being on the other end of the spectrum, is there any way to tell if lack of sales is due to design appeal or lack of awareness (marketing)? I have listings on the 3 POD platforms and sell very little. I'd love to know why so I can fix that.

What I don't understand, Greg, is even if your own line business is currently, while under your aegis netting $40,000.00 per month based on your ideas, your tee shirts and your acumen re how to position the product, choose the niches. How, if the person buying it doesn't posses your understanding of all of the above. How, long term, is it going to be able to continue to be profitable and maintain that initial $40,000.00. I have a bit of an idea of how that MIGHT be so but, my supposition still doesn't qualify as a truly viable answer that makes sense to me.

Great question! There's a short and long answer but the shorter one is that the idea is that these business models rely heavily on organic traffic and "earned rankings". Essentially, the new buyer should be able to not lift a finger and have the business continue to run passively. With some other business models, they depend on ongoing advertising campaigns and day to day expert decisions to stay profitable. With these passive business models, the don't require the same. More times than not, the new buyers continue to grow the business as well and stand to resell the business to a bigger buyer next (most of the time a venture capital fund). Hope that all makes sense!

That, actually, is what I suspected based on the fact it does rely on "organic" sales fuel rather than requiring active prospecting ND sales efforts. Also, I would guess that if they are buying it from you, you would like I would, if I were selling it and possessed of the know how you have? You are going to want to make sure that they feel the transaction is a win-win for them as well as for you. Consequently, I wound feel quite safe betting that you would sit them down and say, "Look here's what I want you to know. If you run into problems give me a call. I'll see if I can help and, I've also got lots, tons and tons of tutorials about how I made this happen. So you're NOT going to be left out on a limb. It's not my style to Take the Money and Run!" SMS. Fun isn't it? Running into someone who understands your modus operandi! 🤔😉

Hey thanks for asking! I've had years to grow these businesses.. I'd say it will take a few years to get one of your businesses to a net monthly profit of $40k, but definitely worth every bit of the hard work (especially if you can sell it for $1m if you wanted to).

Right on! Welcome to the channel! It's average about $1/per active listing/per month (and that goes for Teespring, Merch by Amazon, and RedBubble). Hope that makes sense, for example 100 shirts on each site is about $300/mo total (or $100/mo from each site). Every time I make a sale, I get between $2-$10 depending on how big the margin is set on that product. The $1 I'm talking about is to give you a best average on my entire accounts earnings per month. You may have 100 designs live, but only make 20 sales that month. Not every design will sell every month. So if we are averaging between $2-10 per sale (and we got 20 per month) that averages $100 profit that month. With 100 designs, that comes out to about $1 per active design on the account. I hope that helps!

I definitely want to show my appreciation... In result to seeing some of your videos in time past, right before I lost my job, I had a design made for $100 for my branding.. I later uploaded it to Teespring and started advertising it to my friends and family. I have now made about $135... The cool thing is, it showed me that it can be done. I have since started designing 10 designs for a specific niche and will rinse, wash repeat for other niches. I will now scale these and put them on redbubble and Amazon merch. Thank you for sharing the information that you are sharing. I believe I am going to have a viable print on demand business so I can focus on my KZread channel and growing in commercial videography...

This is a very interesting path to take and I've thought about doing it as well. I do not have any business making that type of money, but it has always been a dream of mine. Will be fun to watch the process and learn from a great teacher. Question for you Greg, have you ever thought about doing a giveaway to walk someone from start to finish by helping them with their existing business (print on demand or affiliate marketing) and recording the steps/process that you took to help?

Great question! POD first to get some income flowing (easy to start and easy to scale). Also POD will allow you to have 3 different income streams. Then once you have made a dent in POD, start with affiliate marketing. I hope that helps!

For some people, yes that is true (and a valid way to make money). But for me, I don't have any paid classes to sell :) Everything is free from me so that's not my business model.

Hey Greg I have a question about Merch informer. Doesn’t a less competitive niche have less people searching it up meaning it’s not that popular. So how exactly do you get sales for a unpopular niche. Couldn’t I go for a C ranked niche which is not as popular but not overly saturated. Love your vids btw!

Hey Jana, thanks for the comment! Great question.. The only reason I'm able to keep up with it all is because after you've made the content, it's 100% passive. I just move on to the next thing on my to-do list and (practically) never look back because it rarely requires any updating or maintenance. I hope that helps!

Hey Greg Nice and helpful content! 👍 How do you come up with a POD brand name?

I plan to start this journey also by going for 150$/day by the end of first season, 250$/day halfway 2021, and aim to end with 500$/day by the end of 2021. It's humble, but something I'm confident I can achieve. Of course, if I see a bigger opportunity I will go for it, but if this will be my thing I will grow to have an annual income of 1M$ in 6 years. (I'm 22 now) I will definitely stay tuned Greg! Excited to see you 'lead the charge' and to learn from you!

@@rob4461 Hey Rob. Glad you're asking. What can I say? What I thought was gonna work out hasn't (yet), finances have been LOW AF... I'd say, in a nutshell, what I haven't acquired yet in financial wealth I've most definitely gained in knowledge and wisdom. Like a massive puzzle that requires one piece of info at the time. Sometimes you lay a piece in a corner, sometimes in the middle, and for a long while it seems there's no gain. But once the pieces are starting to connect (and they are to me!) a bigger picture becomes visible. So all in all, instead of having been deterred by the challenges this year, I've felt more hopeful because of the knowledge I've acquired. I hope that answers that? :)

Hi Greg. Love your channel. Always look forward to the info you provide. I have 2 quick questions regarding selling a POD business: 1) Do POD accounts need to be set up as businesses or can they be sold simply as an individual's account? 2) In another video, you mention that you cannot sell a Merch on Amazon account? I hoped you might clarify this if possible.

Hey thanks for the comment and great questions. You do not need to set up your POD accounts in a business, however if you want to you can. I recommend looking into a single member LLC once you get to about $50,000/yr. It helps make reporting and a few other things easier. In regards to the other question, the last time I read through Amazon's terms it said that it is not allowed to buy/sell a Merch by Amazon account. However, I've seen it done in the past without any issues at all. With that said, I don't think Amazon would mind it or make a big deal of it, but it's straight from their terms. I hope that helps clarify!

What do your prefer uplaoding the same designs to different platforms or working with different niches on different platforms like cars niche on redbubble and coffee on teespring. Please answer this because your suggestion matters.

Greg, I've watched almost all of your videos until this point, but honestly after watching this one it's hard to comprehend that you are making $40,000 a month with just one of your POD accounts or affiliate marketing websites. I'm choosing to trust that that's the amount you're making, but it's hard to comprehend or seem feasible without any sort of indication as to how you are making that much. If on POD for example, that would mean you would have to have around 100,000 designs or so on that account. I imagine. If that is the case, it would be tremendously helpful to know at the least. I respect and trust your decision to keep things a little under wrap, but in this case it seems reasonable to share a little bit on that end. Thanks.

Hey Benjy, Thanks for the comment and for the support on the channel. Yes, it is true. Once you reach this level of income, you become very private with your accounts (last time I shared them, people were trying to hack them daily..). The hardest part I had before making substantial income, was believing that it was actually possible (not just in general, but for me specifically). I think I'd focus your brain power on that part first. The book Pyscho-Cybernetics www.amazon.com/Psycho-Cybernetics-Updated-Expanded-Maxwell-Maltz/dp/0399176136 was the book that ultimately made me realize this. Once you make this mental connection (and truly believed it) you will be able to achieve incomes above $1MM per year ;) I hope that helps, and once again thank you so much for the comment!
